Lead does conduct head doesn't it?  Or did it not in the 50's?

But it's a fridge, so there's insulation.  Atomic blast proof insulation.  Yea, that's it.... ;D

I thought it was a decent movie.  But I knew that months before it came out, plenty of people had already decided to hate it, due to it being a sequel to a 15+ year old movie and George Lucas being involved.

I decided I hated it WHILE I watched it. Probably around the time Spalko showed up.

Good RiffTrax, but I'm surprised nobody riffed about that giant ditch running down the back of Shia's head. That was just begging for a riff.

One more thought:  They should have made Dr. Irina more evil during the movie, did they ever show her actually killing anyone?  Her fate at the end seemed a bit excessive for what she actually did during the movie.
But...but...she tried to kill Indy! For that alone she deserves to be dumped in a small box and dropped near an atomic explosion. No, wait...

Moi aussi.  It was either the fridge scene or the "clever" indictment of McCarthyism.  Boy, those guys sure don't pull any punches when dealing with contemporary social problems, huh?

That wasn't invented until 1970, a technological by-product of NASA's space technology.  It was part of the set they used to film the "moon landing."

I think the one thing we all forget is that even if scientifically a lead lined fridge could deflect all the harmful radiation from a closely detonated nuclear blast, Indy really negates it all by standing there so close to the mushroom cloud and watching it. From the radiation poisoning alone being that close he should have died by the end of the movie.

You do realize in temple of doom, they fall from an airplane in a life raft hundreds (thousands maybe?) of feet and land unscathed. In the third movie, he jams a rock in a tank cannon and that causes it to backfire. Both completely ridiculous.

And in the first one the Ark melts the faces of anyone who sees what comes out after it's opened. Among other weird things.

I don't really get why all of a sudden logic matters in an Indiana Jones movie either, but if the internet has taught us nothing it's that nerds are nit-picky.

Really what it shows is that in a GOOD movie you let the nit-picky stuff slide and just have fun watching it...

For me Crystal Skull was not bad but not good, maybe slightly more to the good side than the bad, so it gets a bit of nit picking.

Every movie has their own set of internal logic you either have to accept or not. a sequel has rules that are previously set up, and can only add to them. But when the movie fails to even obey it's own internal logic (however flimsy that may be), that is justification for nitpicking.

I don't think it's nitpicking to say that a fridge can't survive a nuke.

That is something that is just so basic that the one way it would work is if everyone watching the movie lost every one of their braincells.

Pointing out plot holes/inconsistencies is by its very definition nitpicking.  If you're okay with that, then fine, but don't pretend it isn't what you're doing.

I thought removing lice from another mammal's hair was the very definition of nitpicking.

I don't think it's nitpicking to say that a fridge can't survive a nuke.

And yet spirits from heaven coming out of the Ark and melting off people's faces and the lid going back on conveniently is a-okay?

Again, I'm not really sure why exactly everyone all of a sudden decided "Well, that's just too much". All the Indiana Jones flicks are pretty ridiculous, but in a fun way if you let them be.
