Just so you know...

THE INCREDIBLES was studied at my art school (yes - it is a fully accredited art school) as an example of excellent storytelling. I personally love the incredibles because the characters bend and squash like no other 3D cartoon I've seen hit the theaters (thank GOD for Tex Avery).

PULP FICTION is by far one of my LEAST liked movies..... I have to agree with whoever it was that listed Pulp Fiction because really, I hated it.... That being said

KILL BILL ANYTHING was a waste of life. I understand the movies are supposed to be a montage of different directorial styles but it was completely undesirable to me after the first knife fight yet EVERYONE loves these movies..... Obviously I have a thing against Quentin (whom one of my friends ran into at a strip bar in Tijuana....)

MOULIN ROUGE is basically my all time WTF movie. Every girlfriend I've ever had has LOVED this movie and I found it mediocre at best. If John Leguizamo wasn't the midget dude, I never would've watched it (and Nicole Kidman SCARES me).

40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN is sadly mediocre.... I LOVE Carrell.... I do.... but the movie was not nearly as good a some of my favorite OFFICE episodes.

THE INCREDIBLES loved it

PULP FICTION thought it was 'okay' but if i never see it again it won't be too soon.

KILL BILL ANYTHING At first I despised this thing, but it grew on me, and has further reinforced my apreciation with Akira Kurosawa (who obviously did it better). Tarantino was offering a tribute to all he holds dear regarding cinema. It's certainly not the best two films ever in the history of anything, but it's a fun roller coaster ride

MOULIN ROUGE I make a point never to watch Nicole Kidman movies. Made an exception with "The Others" and regretted it.

40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN have no desire to spend two hours watching a guy fail with women. Steve Martin did this but better in The Lonely Guy, and it's been done far worse ever since, often. No need to tread that beaten path again.

=)
My wishlist: Leonard Part 6, Gigli, Shanghai Surprise, Mannequin, Supercross, Spice World, Pluto Nash, Angel Heart, Ghost Dad, Flashdance, Home Alone, Lifeforce, Maximum Overdrive, Phantasm, Poltergeist 3, Pretty Woman, Robocop, Sixth Sense

Movies I don't want Riff'd
any Tom Cruise movies. Yuck

While I might not be the greatest fans of the above films, it seems odd to me that you can be so dismissive of them when you've yet to see either of them...

I've only seen a little over one thousand films in my lifetime, give or take a thousand. Life is short. I don't want to waste it on films I know I'm not going to enjoy. It's bad enough I've wasted my life watching all of these.

Since "Tombstone" isn't on that list, I recommend you go find it right away =)

Yeah, but you've seen Noises Off! and that flick makes up for a lot of cheese, at least in my mind.

PULP FICTION? You sir have crossed the line!

It has it place in cinema history, and really changed film making.

Next you are going to say that Jackie Brown is bad...

Pulp Fiction to my mind is a really well-made film, very tightly scripted and directed, and quite a ride.

However I could see someone not liking its self-aware, ain't-this-cool sensibility.

For instance, a guy who wants his wallet that says "bad m--f--" on it, and who quotes Fonzie and Kung Fu within minutes of one another.  Yeah, I was pretty caught up in the scene (Amanda Plummer's brand of crazy is easy to believe) but I could see someone else not digging all the references and this game of characters out-cooling each other.

Also, small footnote in this Coolness Game: it's funny to me that we're meant to think QT's character Jimmy is cooler than Jules the Hitman.  When QT starts in with the sarcastic scolding of Samuel Jackson, "Don't Jimmy me, Jules!" I just have to laugh.

I thought the violence was just extraneous, and it was too... I don't know... LOOK!  THE SCENES ARE OUT OF ORDER!  SWEET, HUH?

Have the music to the twist contest on my Mp3 player, however.

The intention of the order and editing of the film was to present to audiences a story resembling the chronological order of a book, rather than the order in which the story actually happens. Tarantino likes to do different things with the various genres and mixes of genres he takes on.

Sometimes, it is best to tell your story in a linear fashion. At other times, a nonlinear approach would work better. It's all in the context of the film. No filmmaker would go "Look! The scenes are out of order! Sweet, huh?"
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Yeah, I know what he was going for, and all, but it just seemed too forced and smug.

I think QT also said somewhere in an interview that he wanted the film to end with Vinny Vegas still alive, so the film has a happy ending, even if the story doesn't.

While "Pulp Fiction" doesn't do it for me, other zany plot-messer-uppers do have a place in my bosom.

For example, "Snatch" or "Lock Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels." Heck, "Sin City" is one of my new favs.

Smug is the perfect word for Kill Bill.  Eww.

"Hey, get me!  I'm a cool movie!  I have an even cooler director!  Check us out!"

Anyway, yeah, The Incredibles: Best movie ever.  No joke.

I really think you're either reading too much into the film or blaming the marketing for your dislike of a movie.
