All this recent talk of Lowtax working with rifftrax lately reminds me of his old nemesis Seanbaby from EGM and seanbaby.com. I used to love reading Seanbaby's stuff, and I've always thought he was 10 times funnier than lowtax.

Even further endearing him to me is the fact that Uwe Boll apparently chicken****ed right out of a fight with him. Some of you Uwe Boll haters ought to like this too. From the Uwe Boll Wikipedia

Quote
Also, printed in Electronic Gaming Monthly's November 2006 edition of the section "The Rest of the Crap", written by critic Seanbaby, described Seanbaby's own involvement. Apparently Uwe was going to come onto G4's Attack of the Show and promote this fight by sparring with one of the hosts. He claims that, "Again, he's [Uwe Boll] a matchmaking genius, because everyone on TV's 3-feet tall. If you were watching [AotS] during the time I co-hosted, you might have noticed that I could have leaned over and eaten host Kevin Pereira." A producer of the show then asked if Seanbaby would come and spar in the host's place for the event. Seanbaby says that he trains in Muay Thai and Jujitsu, and that, "Boxing is to Fighting is what Hungry Hungry Hippos is to fighting..." When Uwe heard of this, he wanted to know Seanbaby's age, height, weight and fighting experience since he "learned he wasn't fighting a midget". After receiving said information, Uwe suddenly couldn't make it on the show.

As an avid MMA fan I was particularly amused with his boxing comment. I'd love to see him kick huge purple welts into Uwe Boll's legs in a Muay Thai fight or snap an arm in an MMA fight. Too bad Boll apparently only does boxing matches with critics.

So, anyone else ever read Seanbaby back in the day? I particularly liked his commentaries on old videogames and his superfriends material.

These are from SA, but not actually from Lowtax:
http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=4191
http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=4211
http://www.somethingawful.com/index.php?a=4273

and to be honest Seanbaby's "I know martial arts!" bragging makes him sound like an internet tough guy, not any kind of real threat. Of course, Bolle would back out of a fight with someone who claimed to be able to make the sky fall on him, so...

I assure you, if he's good at Muay Thai and/or BJJ (the respective striking and grappling arts of choice in the world of MMA) then he's a threat to Uwe "The Critic Smasher" Boll. Did I mention he's huge? Did I also fail to mention.... He hangs out with Mr. T?

I pity the fool who messes with Seanbaby.

Also, those links are a pretty good illustration of why Seanbaby is funnier than Something Awful.

Ok. I still think he's kind of goofy, and not in a good way.

Based on the fact that he would likely cripple Uwe Boll in a streetfight, or something else?

It would appear that way, now wouldn't it?

If I were Lowtax I'd probably be funny.

Doubtful, since LowTax isn't funny at all.  He surrounds himself with actual funny and seems funnier as a result.  It's more some form of comedic osmosis than anything else.

I don't know from Lowtax (other than that he's never heard of post-production), but Seanbaby is hysterically funny.  The Internet has been a much sadder place since he got a real job and stopped updating his site.

He's updated a couple of times in the past year, mostly to post some of his EGM articles with annotations. You should check it out if you never read them in print.

My brothers recently pointed me Seanbaby's way. He's a funny man. He has this way of writing that brings out the stupidity in things you always took for granted in old video games. :^)

On a related note, I also much miss Old Man Murray.  Their "crate review system" article is one of the classics of the genre.
