Jack Frost's Nastenka today and other Russo-Finnish fun.

Natalia Sedykh who played Nastenka in my favorite MST3k episode Jack Frost (Morozko) most recently appeared in 2007's The Best of Times (Luchshee Vremya Goda).



That's her on the right, at age 59. She was 16 at the time Jack Frost was made.



Funny, that's the only picture of her that I could find. And it was hard to find that one. And you know what, she's still hauntingly beautiful. It's strange that she hasn't been in many movies since Jack Frost.

No. The mean sister was Marfusha, played by Inna Churikova. She was 21 when Jack Frost was made and she has been a lot more active in movies than Natalia, so there's more pictures of her. She also does plays regularly.

Stangley, imdb says "Old Mushroom" was played by 2 people. Galina Borisova, a woman who was an actress and singer. And Mikhail Yanshin, a man who was in many Russian movies. He was born in 1902 and died in 1976. Funny thing is that his height is listed as 5'7" which seems too tall to be the Mushroom guy who seemed to have been played by a little person.

And Old Mushroom didn't look like a woman at all. Maybe there was a female "Old Mushroom" in the original that got cut out. I'm going to watch it later to check it out.
