Rank the Man of Iron

This is going to make me sound really ignorant, but although I had heard of the movie Iron Man, I had no idea what it was about or who was in it, and I watched it for the first time with the trax on deliberately having not bothered finding anything out. It's a bit of a rarity that I do that...anyway.

Loved the riff and loved the film! Gwyneth was a bit weedy (when isn't she- and those ridiculous shoes!) but RDJ rocked and I loved the Iron Man suit etc. I can't wait for the sequel now. Gave the riff a 9.

I liked the movie... I thought it lived up to most of the hype. I'm not a comic book fan, but I'd have to think that the backstory here was robust enough to please the fans of the comic, while the action delivered with enough quality and quantity for folks just wanting to see shit blowd up real good. I guess a case could be made for this being predictable and formulaic... but we're talking about a comic book movie.... this aint gonna have any Momento or M.Night plot twists. The special effects were fun to watch and for the most part managed to avoid being one big, wet CGI fish slapping you across the face. Robert Downey was really good and probably helped to gloss over some other blemishes, overall it was a fun ride.

As far as the riff, I thought it was a middle of road performer. Things got stronger as it went along and the guys dropped their normal quota of brilliant LOL moments, but I found stretches of the riff were a little flat. The consistency wasn't on par with their best efforts. As most folks around here would say, a second viewing usually helps... So I won't vote on the poll until then. As of now, I'd put this somewhere in the three outta five range. A worthy purchase, but not something that I'll need to have on hand everytime I watch Iron Man.
