Still need to do some rewatching, actually (been meaning to give the first Harry Potter another go for a while, give it a second chance).

Anyway, my thoughts on Iron Man:

I really liked this one. I thought the stuff at the beginning was pretty funny (though it was more sparse, things certainly start to get funnier towards the latter half of the movie), and I got a big smile on my face for the Calvin and Hobbes reference (the Hitchhiker's Guide one was also great). It was a little strange (agreeing with Darth Geek here) that there was no "bite my shiny metal ass" line, and the Big Lebowski to Hustle and Flow reference ration was strangely skewed (one would think they'd squeeze a White Russian gag in there). But it was still a great riff in the end (and that includes the little Iron Man 2 bit); I give it an 8 out of 10.

EDIT: Also, I had completely missed the Iron Monger remark every other time I watched this film. Didn't really dawn on me until it was explicitly pointed out :-[

They did when he was pouring himself a drink in Tony's office. (They said "Caucasian" instead of "White Russian").

I did wonder if that was a reference, actually, but I wasn't sure. I don't know anything about alcoholic drinks, so I just figured it was another kind of drink.

But you could be right, so that would bring the Lebowski and Flow ratio up to an even 2:2 (unless I missed another one for either side). Perfectly acceptable.

Yeah, it's the same drink.  The Dude also called it a "Caucasian" a couple of times in TBL.

Well I'll be *rewatches Lebowski*, you're right. Wonder how I missed that...

Thanks :)

There seemed to be a lot of talking over the dialogue (of course Downey's rapid-fire muttering didn't help matters). I hadn't seen the movie before, so that was a bit of a disadvantage. If it had been Troll 2 I wouldn't have cared -- I'd have preferred it, actually -- but when it's a halfway decent movie, I do like to be able to follow it a little. Still, there was some really great riffing in this one, so I did enjoy it quite a lot. 8 out of 10.

I watch with captions on.  :)

I dunno, I didn't think this one was really all that funny, for some reason.
I did love the Transformers line, and some of the addiction jokes. :)

For good movies I always wait till I've watched it unriffed at least once, so then I can concentrate on the riffs instead of the movie.

Oh and people remembered to stick around for Iron Man 2 right?
Indeed, although by accident the first time.

I think we have a new record for the longest time between riffs:  7 minutes.

Came off kinda weak to me.  I didn't laugh a lot.

Same here. Disappointing.

But every time I've had a low opinion of a riff initially, a later repeat has always improved my opinion.

I've experienced this as well (on Daredevil, for example). I'm not optimistic on this one, but I'm hopeful.

You mean shortest time between a riff and its sequel. Pessimist.

Movie:  Far too formulaic and predictable.  Bad music, some OTT acting and a horrible climax.  RDJ carried this movie.  If it weren't for him this would have been a clunker.  TF was superior.
Riff:  don't know.  I have no desire to see the movie again.
