Before the movies, I would've been all "Woo Hoo!". But those were mostly lame, so now I'm worried about the show being a shadow of its former self. I'll hope for the best, though.

woo hoo

I think that was the stupid format that CC forced on them.

They told them that they were movies and then they told them that they had to be 30 minute episodes too.

A 2 hour movie has one structiur and a 30 minute episode has another, doing both at the same time can't be done.

It must have taken a lot just to get that working when they wrote the movies.

I'm sure that now that they know what format the show is going to be in it will be fine.

Yeah no show that is canceled should ever be allowed to come back for any reason!

The sad part is CC never showed them as seperate episodes, always as full movies.  So the harm that was done by writing them so they could be split was for nothing.

There were some really good bits in the movies, I'm sure they will be back to normal when doing half hour shows again.

Now, I wonder if they will carry on where movie 4 left off or what?

I'm guessing they will do what they did with the first movie, set then new season a few years after the last movie so that only have to use what they want from it and can ignore the rest.

How come Collider had the scoop yesterday, but I'm just hearing about it NOW?

Hooray! Finally, Zoidberg's the popular one!

You clearly did not see Bender's Game? It was almost as good as the first one. (The first two were good, but not great, IMO.)

EDIT: I take that back. I liked all of them with the slight exception of Beast with a Billion Backs. It had its moments but was substandard compared with the rest.

Interesting that this news came as I've been rewatching the series from start to finish (into season 4 now)

I enjoyed all the movies, Beast With a Billion Backs did drag a bit but it had enough laughs to make up for it.

I think that it gives people false hope for other shows where they should just maybe accept it and move on.

I did say "mostly lame." Bender's Game was the only one worth watching IMHO. The rest were (mostly) a waste of time.

I dunno about those movies.  I could count the number of Futurama movies that I enjoyed on one hand.
