Er, the "spliced up" thing sounds like crap to me, because I just watched "Beast" on Comedy Central, and they showed it as a movie, but with credits for each part. So why the hell would they plan out this convoluted idea, and then spoil it before they sell it? They might as well cut up Back to the Future and pretend it's a TV series. Idiotic. Why didn't they ever show Bender's Big Score?

Critically, I must say the second movie (didn't see the first) was fairly... solipsistic. Why on Earth was the univeral disaster exclusive to only... Earth? They went to Kif's planet twice, but that's it. The tentacle only attacked Earth. Did the rest of the universe disappear? It didn't make any sense. Actually I remember them showing the weird blue aliens from that one episode, but they still only dwelled on Earth getting attacked.

Just watched it a few days ago.  It looked like there were aliens on other planets with the tentacle things in them so I reckon it was all over the (our) universe.

It was a bit stupid building a dome around the Earth to save the universe then.

Would love to participate in this conversation... but ... The second movie creeped me out too much to watch twice.

So I've seen all three of the films and the only one that I think can really be considered anything close to old Futurama is The Beast with a Billion Backs. Everything else has been pretty sub-par, with the exception of a few laughs here and there.

Actually, I thought the first one was the closest to old Futurama (though still not as good). Each movie has been slightly to significantly worse than the previous. Bender's Game was just kind of boring and stupid, I don't think I laughed more than once or twice the whole time.

I've enjoyed them all, Bender's Game got a lot of laughs from me.  Maybe I'm just an easy target for RPG jokes.

The Dungeons & Dragons concept was cool. It reminded me of the beginning of the episode, A Bicyclops Built for Two, where the whole gang goes into the the Internet. That's one of my favorite Futurama segments ever. But this just wasn't nearly as good, sadly.

The biggest problem with Bender's Game was that the whole section with them being in the DnD world just came out of nowhere, made no sense why they would be there, and at the end when they came out, had no real bearing on anything else.
I liked everything in the real world, and everything in the DnD world, they just didn't work mashed crudely together like that.
Still, I think it had overall better jokes than the previous movies.

Yeah Bender's Game was pretty weak. It was an improvement from the second movie, but thats not really saying much.

I haven't seen either Bender movie. They must have been preempted by a football game.

I think they made the right move with the cardboard cases.  See, whenever I get a DVD box set, the first thing I do is take out the discs and throw away the plastic laden box.

The next part of my ritual involves watching them on a portable DVD player in my car, with the engine running, for a couple hours.  Then I usually grab a couple cans of hairspray and spray them empty.
