Books I must read

As some of you may know, I shall (finally) be graduating come April, and I was thinking about all the books I will be able to read once my brain starts working again. So, I am going to start a running list of said books. Please feel free to add. Consider this Anais's Edumacation thing, just with books instead of movies.

Maybe I had a bad translation, but I couldn't really get into Don Quixotte. 

I suggest 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

I don't know if you count comics, but I recommend... well, a lot, so I guess I better choose just one.  Gee, this is tough.  I guess considering the books listed so far, something actiony might be refreshing.  Still, to play it safe, let's keep it smart.  Since it's both a great read and a quick read, I'll go with Grant Morrison's (and I'm a sucker for almost anything he's written) sci-fi animal story We3, a sort of bizarre cross between homeward bound and bloody killer robot movies.  Talking animals have never been creepier.

If you aren't accepting comic book submissions, then I have a couple of Sci-fi short stories to recommend:

"It's a Good Life" (which became a very popular Twilight Zone episode and stil remains creepy in prose form) and "The Sandkings" which is a horror sci-fi story with a style that reminds me a lot of those karmic "snap endings" from those old Tales from the Crypt comics.
