Ladies and Gentlemen, the worst movie of 2007.
« on: December 05, 2006, 05:20:23 PM »
Yes, the collective of idiots who made Scary Movie and Date Movie now think summer blockbusters are now worth making unfunny jokes about. And thus, we are cursed with... EPIC MOVIE!

Trailer:http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Epic-Movie-Trailer-3963.html

It takes the piss -or attempts to- out of Chronicles of Narnia, Pirates of the Carribian, X-Men, Superman Returns... and Borat?!

Jesus H Christ, who ever thought this would be a good idea. I hope whoever greenlighted this gets a severe kick in the balls. Twice.

It's not like epics are hard to mock, it's just that these guys aren't actually in fact funny. Which is kind of important.

They don't do farce justice at all.  Naked Gun is funny, Airplane is funny, but this is just using popular movies to sell their own crappy movie.  It reminds me of Kidz Bop.  They take popular songs and have kids sing them, making them crappy.  But they make money off of it anyway because they are using popular songs.  Here they are taking popular movies and making them shit.

No, Kids Bop is much funnier. What could be better than thirty 11-year-olds singing Ridin' Dirty?

White n' Nerdy.

Weird Al rules. In other news, I think the worst movie of 2007 is clearly In the Name of My King (an "epic" masterpiece by the one and only Uwe Boll).

I think we should make the next Boll flick required viewing for anyone who proclaims themselves to be a Riffaholic. We'll make it a point to go out and see it in theatres and report on our findings and stuff. :^)

No LOTR parody (at least in the trailer) BUT Crispin F-N Glover as Willy Wonka will get me to see it (on DVD)!!!

I love Crispin's cash grabs. The more work like this will help get his movie What is it? out on DVD!

Oh, what the hell? Kevin McDonald is in this, and Ray Liotta's in that other crappy movie?

This is the precise opposite of doing a series of indy movies to show that you're still awesome, guys.

Wow. Looks likes Uwe has some competition for worst movie of the year. Assuming In The name Of The King ever actually gets released...

I dig the idea of casting Crispin Glover as Willy Wonka (wasn't he at one point rumored to get the role before Depp got it?).

I guess Kal Penn is looking for a paycheck, since he is much funnier than to be in something like this. More importantly, when will we see Harold and Kumar Return?

Looking over a list of 2007 releases, I see a few that might compete with Epic Movie and Boll for worst of the year:

Delta Farce (Larry The Cable Guy, nuff said)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (This can't possibly turn out well.)
Underdog (Why are they making this?  And if it is with actual dogs, then it may easily be the worst movie EVER!)
Halloween (Rob Zombie remakes a classic, what could possibly go wrong?  At least there probably will be more action on screen than the original!)

I have high hopes for, but am very worried that they will end up as turkeys:
Live Free And Die Hard
Transformers
The Simpsons Movie
Rush Hour 3

Oh, the didn't call it Die Hardest? That title's just out there, waiting to be used!

And I'm not getting my hopes up about the Simpsons movie. I've just got my fingers crossed for Futurama when it returns.
