I've been corrected several times into pronouncing it as if it were Ann.  Guess it's just one of those things.

Also, at least I used the retake of that line, and not the one where DraCCu somehow applied the y in Ayn to her last name.  Suddenly she became Ann Rynd.

Scrivener's right.  It's a long "i".  It really destroys it otherwise.

Please forward all hate mail to my High School English teacher.

I hope kids aren't reading Ayn Rand in high school.

Well it was assigned to me...I'd be lying if I said I actually READ it in high school.

You had a better school than me.  I would have gotten the Cliff Notes for that book.  Weird fact:  Cliff Notes were started in Nebraska.

High school?  Egad.  I hope at least it was The FountainheadAtlas Shrugged is a cinderblock.  Much as I can admire some things about her, there wasn't a point she made in that book that she didn't go on to make fifteen times.  Not to mention that the crux of the whole novel is a sixty-page monologue.  That thing is a five-hundred mile march for people who like it!

Did this teacher also assign you War and Peace to read over Christmas vacation?

RoninFox, I humbly apologize to you for giving you hassles over your pronunciation.  This was obviously your subconscious way of lashing out, and I sympathize fully.

No worries.  I actually think it was The Fountainhead but I can't be sure, a lot of that class got blocked out.  All I know is that after two chapters, it was off to the bookstore for the Cliffs Notes.

Really, the only person I can remember hearing pronounce Ayn Rand with a long i sound is Bender on an episode of Futurama.

You've got another customer here.  I look forward to buying it.

As for Ayn Rand, i always heard it pronounced "Ann."  I read Atlas Shrugged a few years ago, I thought it was very good - outside of the over-the-top ending and monologue (which I bailed on reading after about 3 pages).

Definitive proof that it's Ayn (long "i", as in "dine"):

Well, this riff will be ready to release as soon as the upload system for iRiffs is online.  I'll put a definite date up as soon as I know it.

Oh and, here's a slight update on the poster.

I'd never actually seen this movie before but knew it's reputation, my housemate going into near hysterics when I asked if he had the director's edition copy should have been a warning sign.

However this is a GREAT riff, once again Ronin's obvious love of the series he's riffing on shines though and adds to the fun.  Even though nothing seems to actually happen, there's no bad guy and the storyline is vague at best the riff actually keeps the movie progressing nicely.

Possibly the best of the 3 so far.
