the feel good story of the year!

what a depressing mess!

"We have fired every nuclear missile in the world, but despite the fact that we always say that it's enough firepower to destroy the world a hundred times over, we couldn't put a dent in a comet the size of Texas."
Snowhead the Blue Reindeer gave me all the presents in the world.

To be fair, nuclear arsenals wouldn't actually take the world to pieces- most of the assumed destruction comes from environmental effects, not the actual explosion.

Which makes one wonder if it was really such a great idea to go with nuclear missiles to begin with. :^)

A movie that makes me feel good by constantly surprising me is L.A. Confidential.  I never think about it when I think of great movies, but whenever I catch it on cable I can't turn it off.  It really is fantastic.  And to think it's chock full of actors who annoy the piss out of me now.

I love that film.  Although the "twist" was ruined by a lousy TV-Show reviewer.

I love that the good cops are played by Australians and the crooked cops are played by Americans. Interesting casting...
