They have been threatening off and on for years to do a remake of Billy Jack.  Keanu Reeves was even rumored at one point to be in the running for the lead role.  But nothing has ever come of it.

They would most likely screw it up royally. (See Walking Tall remake for example of what I am talking about)

If they could do something that was fresh but stayed true to the source material, then I think it could work.

Crazy Tom Laughlin and his batty wife Delores are still trying to come up with money to make a 5th Billy Jack film.  One that would presumably have Billy as first ever president of the world or some such nonsense.

Disclaimer: While it is pretty much a given that Tom Laughlin is crazy, I am only assuming that his wife is batty.  For all I know, she may be a lovely sane woman who is in the kitchen baking cookies for the grandkids while Tom is posting the bonkers stuff on his website.

P.S.  The original Walking Tall with Joe Don Baker (which is an awesome film BTW) would make an awesome Rifftrax!

P.S.  The original Walking Tall with Joe Don Baker (which is an awesome film BTW) would make an awesome Rifftrax!

Joe Don Baker has actually been in a GOOD film? I find that hard to believe.

Cape Fear, Mars Attacks!

Also, Fletch. Can't forget that one, because it's very rare proof that Chevy Chase was also in a good film. :P

I love Zardoz. Why would you remake it?

Man, why would you want to remake Cape Fear? The original was great!
