If you could bring back one TV show....
« on: August 07, 2008, 06:24:16 AM »
Since Tron started a "if you could eliminated one TV show.." and Swordking did a "Remove any movie from history..." I decided to take a more positive out look and give you the chance to bring back a failed TV show that was unjustly canceled..

Mine is a tie.  First would be Arrested Development. Easily one of the most brilliant shows on tv. It is smart, quirky, and has great characters. If you haven't seen this show... shame on you.

Second would be Wonderfalls. It ran on Fox for 1 season. It was excellent. This 20 something girl is a slacker and works in a Niagara Falls gift shop. suddenly inanimate animal objects around her tell her to do things. She ends up having to do them other wise she doesn't get any peace. It is basically god/a higher power getting her to help people in need. Very funny.

Deadwood was taken off the air/!

As you can tell I don't get HBO and have been watching it on DvD.

I would bring back Reboot.

We need a real series final.

It sucks.  If they had known that the third season was going to be the last they could have pushed the pace of the story and wrapped everything up.  As it ended up, season three was very slow-paced because they assumed they would have several more seasons to tell the story of these characters.  There was talk of having two TV movies to wrap up the show, but that fizzled out.

Maybe, with the success of the Sex And The City movie, there will be some talk of a feature film for Deadwood.  I certainly hope so.

I too would bring back AD.  I would also bring back Coupling for at least a couple specials, preferably with both Jeff and Oliver (I liked Oliver, sue me), but that's totally unlikely what with Moffat taking over Who (he's a bit busy.)

I'd also bring back Sifl & Olly.  It's crescent fresh!

I was so thinking about starting this exact thread yesterday. Anyway, I would bring back Arrested Development. There are so many shows I have loved that got cancelled too early, but AD is the only one I still mourn on a daily basis.

Third series of Spaced, anyone?  Or at least a two part special, like Ricky Gervais did for the Office and Extras.

God yes, that would be beyond awesome. Ditto for another series of Red Dwarf, that show didn't last long enough (someone could at least bother to fund the movie).

MST3K, The Storyteller, and the Critic, in that order.

The first two are big canidates since by their very nature they are constantly refreshed. Each episode has something new, and there's no chance of running out of material any time soon.

Well, obviously MST3K but also:

Samurai Jack (I need closure!)
The live action  The Tick
And if we could go back in time and retrieve a young Raymond Burr, Perry Mason

(I also miss The Storyteller Fuzzy N., I would be so afraid that if they did revive it they would do it with CG  :( )
