If you could eliminate 1 tv series from history...
« on: August 05, 2008, 03:39:15 PM »
...what would it be?

I'm voting for "voyager" (I won't call it star trek voyager) because it was just a gigantic thread crap on Gene Rodennberry's vision for what he wanted trek to be.

I would also nominate "Seaquest dsv" for wasting a prime time SF tv show attempt.

Cold Case because it makes me cry  :'(

Nah, I actually like that show.

How about Friends; so many better shows could have been made just using their payroll budget alone.

I would have said Wipeout last week...but I watched it with the sound off while I listened to music on my zune...and dare I say it, it was kind of entertaining. Do NOT however watch it with the sound on, or else your brain will explode.

I didn't think Voyager was too bad in the beginning, its just too bad it degenerated to the writers looking at the newspaper and saying things like "oh there's a new Jurassic Park movie out, lets make some dinosaury aliens then" in the middle seasons.  But even that wasn't as bad as the mid-seasons of Sliders when that same newspaper ad led writers to say "cool, lets send these guys to a Jurassic Park planet"

I'd go for American Idol and these Dancing/talent shows. AI is only good during the open auditions of people who can't sing.

Amen, brother!

Although AI game us a new synonym for "Asshole", as in "Quit being such a simon cowel!"

Survivor was far from the beginning of reality TV, things like Cops and the Real World were paving that way long before.

John From Cincinnatti.  If the removal of that show from existance gave even a remote chance that Deadwood could have come back for a fourth season, it would be worth it.

I'd also like to get rid of Deadliest Catch. Get rid of all of these "dangerous job" shows like Axe Men, Ice Road Truckers, the oil show one. Saw one coming up on construction crew building a high rise. Because if these keeps up then we will see a series based garbage men and dog walkers..

Mike Row's Dirty Jobs is fine though. That doesn't stick with one single job every day.

Bravo owns the rights to any Dog Walker show and will give any other station such a slap if it tries to make one ;)

Real World AFTER Seattle.  That was the last season that had any redeeming qualities and decent people in the cast.  Basically it was the last gasp before orange skanks and roided up dude-brahs took over.
