Why wasn't this made?  >:(

I agree, what the heck?

From what I know, only Joss knows...

Also, I don't know just how true it is but supposedly the forthcoming Oz arc will be a flashback and being drawn in the style of this cartoon. If so, Joss & Company are bringing everything imaginable in this Season 8 run.

Okay, I took the plunge and ordered Season 8, books 1 and 2.

I see that book three is not out yet as Amazon lists it as pre-order, is that right?

As far as I know just The Long Way Home and No Future for You (I loved Gi-gi, that's my kind of girl; spoilt , bossy and looks nice in jodhpurs ;)) are out so that sounds about right.

First & foremost PSL, welcome to the world of comics!

Okay, I hope this doesn't become too convoluted but this is Season Eight's runaround concerning the books...there's 16 as of this moment:

Books 1-4 = The Long Way Home (you ordered this one)
Book 5 = The Chain
Book 6-9 = No Future for You (you ordered this one)
Book 10 =Anywhere But Here
Book 11 = A Beautiful Sunset
Books 12-15 = Wolves at the Gate
Book 16 = Time of Your Life

Yep, you're right about the 3rd compilation, Wolves at the Gate. It's coming out in the latter half of this fall.

I highly suggest picking up the standalone books. Especially 5 & 11, 5 is quite a poignant piece on the life of a particular slayer and 11, Buffy and the Big Bad of this season have an interesting exchange that can't be missed. Book 10, the verdict's still out on that one for me...anyway...here's links for The Chain & A Beautiful Sunset...

I'm sure your local comic book store will have them too.  ;)

Also, you should check out Fray...

It's a very fun & thrilling ride with the futuristic slayer and playing a big role in Time of Your Life. If you need anymore convincing, read some of the reviews...it's that good.  :D

But again, welcome aboard!

As far as I know just The Long Way Home and No Future for You (I loved Gi-gi, that's my kind of girl; spoilt , bossy and looks nice in jodhpurs ;)) are out so that sounds about right.

If No Future for You is considered an episode, it's in my top-5.

Spoiler Alert...

More to come after it's released tomorrow...

How were you reading After the Fall without going to a comic book shop?

Dumb comic book question 101.................

For this series, would it make sense to wait to the compilations, or buy the individual episodes/books when they come out?    And how do you know when the new one is coming out?   Go to the Dark Horse web site?

OK personally I like getting them as they come out because I like to experience them as individual issues (including all the ads and the letters page). But that might not be a draw for other people.

The one certain thing that buying them as they come out has on getting the collections is there is less chance of missing any of the stories. Many of the "episodes" are spread over multiple issues and these will likely be collected, however a couple so far have been single issue "episodes". Even if they are subsequently collected together with other stand alone issues they'll be out of narrative order.

Yep the Dark Horse Website will list the publication dates for all of the issues but it's averaging at the first Wednesday of the month right now. :)

Yeah, I believe her last appearance was in the 2nd season of Angel, right? When W&H brought Darla back...

Faith for the all-around win.

Mark me down with the above too...letters, narrative flow, and I'm a sucker for the ads. I love 'em.

And on that note, the Brewer game has ended, and it's time to hit up the shop for Book 17 and some lunch.

Score!

The one thing I do miss in season eight is that there isn't a sound track, I really should make a mix tape for the first 16 issues.

Repeating Joss' words...on this arc...

but something is about to happen that will rock the Scoobies' world.

An absolute understatement...

Wait until the end of this book, one of the best Holy Shit moments ever in the Buffyverse. I'll write down my thoughts later on after another reading.

Gunther's back! It's always nice seeing ol' friends.  :D
