Even though most of you guys probably never watched Stargate SG-1, I'll still add it's ending to the list. The promos for the finale was building up to be like the show was going out with a bang. Instead, they create a time-warp around themselves and are basically stuck in their spaceship for sixty years. Not exactly thrilling television. At least a movie came along and gave more closure. (And it came realtively quickly I might add, not six years later.  ;) )

ALF got caught by the Alien Task Force. The end. :^)

And that was the moment I stopped being a child.  That messed me up.

Wait my memories of ALF mostly come from the comic book, say what now?

Mine come from the Topps trading cards and those silly puppets sold at Burger King. And on a similar note, does anyone remember those ridiculous chicken nugget toys at McDonald's? AAAAhahahaha... to be a kid in '88.
my entry made my girlfriend laugh a few times, the best I can hope for really.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

Oh yeah I loved those cards too. The bouliabse ball stats were excellent. :)

On the anime side of things:

Inu Yasha.  Not a great show to begin with but when you end with "yeah, uh, read our manga to find out what happens next" that's just sad.

Mai Hime: a show that started generic, then became awesome but then squandered it by having everyone be OK.

Speaking of anime, another one that really burned itself out was Gantz!

I mean, it was never going to be nominated for any prizes for awesomeness, but it was an entertaining show and was doing a decent job of capturing both the mystery and the action of the manga, up until about the last 3 or 4 episodes, when they pissed the whole thing down the toilet and just completely trashed it all. Such a shitty end to a series that could have been almost as good as the comics.

I alway thought Red Dwarf had a bit of a crappy finale, by which I mean the entire last series.

There are some good moments in that last series, but it's not really Red Dwarf.  I prefer the books' multiple endings to whatever the TV show came up with.

Even though it never made it to air, the Wonderfalls finale kinda sucked.  I mean, they obviously knew the show wasn't going to be renewed, so they felt they had to give the show a resolution, but it would have worked better if they'd just left it with an open ending, leaving open the possibility for the story to continue in some format, whether it be a movie, or getting picked up by another network, or something.

One of the worst anime series finally has to be from the second season of the first Digimon series (AKA: Digimon Adventure 02), when they pretty much flipped the bird to it's fans. It's at the very end of the second season when they jumped to the future where all the kids are now adults and have kids of their own, and not had any of the desired relationships the fans wanted to happen.

Blake's 7 had two bad endings...

I also hated the guys doing duckman for the deliberate cliffhanger ending of that show.

Glad someone brought this one up. I actually kinda liked the last series (certainly not the best of the show, or even close to the best. But dammit, it had some good laughs), but the final ending was just aggravating (especially since it's been years and years, and there's probably going to be nothing more to it. No movie, no more series, nothing).

I'm still pissed Deadwood just stopped.  I don't blame them for not taking the 6 episode deal to try to cram everything into.  With the pacing of that show, 6 episodes wouldn't nearly have been enough.  That was by far my favorite HBO original series.
