Worst Series Finales

What were some of the worst series finales you ever seen?

Here's one that came to my mind in a heartbeat. Disney's Dinosaurs TV series, when they "apparently" killed off all the characters by use of ice age. Can you imagine how many parents had to calm down their kids after that? I love that series but I don't see the reason for shush a gloom and doom ending?

1990's Fox Kids Spider-man - Don't get me wrong, the 2-part "Spider Wars" ep was a cool way to end the series, but it's the very end on part two that ticked me off. To end it on such a build-up for another season, to search for the lost Mary Jane. That sucked.

The actual endings for both Buffy and Angel were bloody terrible, regardless of how good the shows themselves were.

In fact, 100% of the entire last season of Buffy was absolute trash, and 97% of the entire last season of Angel was utter garbage (Smile Time being the only slim piece of redeeming entertainment).

I thought the finale of Bones this year was pretty lame.  Not only wrapping up a promising storyline anti-climactically but employing a twist that made no sense whatsoever.

Mostly in agreement there.

Actually Angel is worse because they really could have done better with the set up they had in the last few episodes (like actually lengthening the arc so it didn't seem rushed).

Also Buffy still was a potentially good idea (one that works much better in Season Eight) just pretty badly botched.

Angel I can forgive, because UPN canned them earlier than they intended to. They had to rewrite Season 5 to be the last season, when Joss was planning to actually have 2 more seasons after that.

There's just no excuse whatsoever for Buffy sucking as hard as it did, after all those years they had to set up something awesome (and actually knowing, going in, that it was the last season). And the first was the stupidest, lamest, most poorly executed villain EVER.

And that was the moment I stopped being a child.  That messed me up.

Not to make it a Buffy thread, but Season 7 was a cheery delight compared to the unending misery and wretchedness of Season 6 (the musical obviously being an exception).

Anyway, St. Elsewhere had a pretty damn awful finale.  The whole show was actually in the imagination of an autistic boy with a snow globe.

I hated the Transformers G1 cartoon finale with the headmasters and targetmasters. Megatron shakes Optimus' hand and its all hunky dory. It was supposed to be a long miniseries they crammed into a 3 part episode that was laughable and pathetic. Might as well have the Care Bears show up and everyone have a tea-party
If there was a transformer that was a hybrid, do you think the other Autobots would make fun of him or be envious?

Well, technically, "Project: ALF" was the official series finale.  It aired six years after the show was cancelled and had nobody from the original cast (besides Paul Fusco), but at least we know that ALF's time on Earth didn't end with a sassy, furry autopsy.

No doubt this did little to alleviate your childhood trauma, though.
