Duck, are you MAD?! O_O

An unopened collectors edition is still available in many suncoast stores for about 70 bucks!

That's why I said "almost".

(and I'm frustrated that I can't find a buyer for it - even though I'm offering it with the single "Giant Gila Monster" disc with it)

I think you should give it to me as a gesture of extreme admiration.

Well I finally got my order into Amazon for it (along with The Black Dossier and Columbo Season 3) so hopefully I will have my tin in a week or so.

Anyone notice that the "normal" version of the 20th Anniversary set is being listed for $4.00 MORE than the collectors edition over at Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Mystery-Science-Theater-3000/dp/B001IO07XM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1226698737&sr=1-1

Hopefully, that will change for those of you who were waiting for this version.  It would suck if you had to pay more for less.
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.

Yeah, I noticed that.

I also noticed that a lot of places seem to still have the Collector's Edition anyway for all of their jumping up and down.

Maybe there were a lot of cancellations of pre-orders because of the economy?

The list price is ten dollars cheaper though. So that is really strange.

Chances are that some avid fans will want to buy this (or get this as a gift) for christmas, and they hope to make as much as possible off of any "avid fans" of anything they can find.  For those who aren't in such a hurry, put it in your shopping cart and check back every day or so.  Sooner or later Amazon will probably have a special discount on it for a day.  If they started out at the minimum that they were willing to sell it for, then they couldn't do any special discounts.

Also, in general it pays to shop around a few sites, instead of assuming Amazon will always have a good price for every item.  They do well on most items, but there's certainly a number of times that I've found CD's or DVD's much cheaper at other web-store sites.

You gotta factor in the free shipping as well.

Not if you live outside the country - then their shipping is the worst I ever come across.

Is Paul Chaplin older than the rest of the Best Brains crew? In the retrospective documentary (the one spanning the three disks, he looks horrifyingly old.

Maybe that is just what the process of working on those animated toons with Mallon did to him.
