Title: RIFFTRAX PLAYOFFS ROUND 2 HEAT 4
Post by: SmilinJackRoss on November 23, 2006, 07:41:22 PM
This is Round two of the Rifftrax Playoffs.  I'm using this set-up:

(W= winner of round 1 heat, R=1st runner up of round 1 heat)

Heat 1 = W1 vs R6
Heat 2 = W2 vs R5
Heat 3 = W3 vs R4
Heat 4 = W4 vs R3
Heat 5 = W5 vs R2
Heat 6 = W6 vs R1

The poll will run until Wednesday Nov 29th.

Some Spielberg blockbusters dukin' it out.  Vote!

What happened to Troll 2?  It finished in a tie with Jurassic Park for second place in it's heat.

At the very least there should have been a run-off between those two films.

 ???

If you look at the thread carefully, you'll see that I had accidentally voted for What Lies Beneath instead of Jurassic Park:

So it won by one vote.  Sorry.

I stand corrected.  See this is why I didn't want to post the second round.  I would have had a runoff or a three way for this heat, not noticing the changed vote.

To me, this heat is the hardest one to vote for. I think both of these movies would be excellent and I really do enjoy (and own) both films.  I choose JP though.

I picked Temple of Doom.  ToD is by far the worst movie in the Indy trilogy, and a disappointing movie in its own right.  Jurassic Park is a good movie, but I'd have to buy it.  Commerce wins out!  :)

Ooh neck and neck...

Also went with Temple Of Doom, strangely enough for the same reason my fellow Brit, mrbasehart did in the fact of already owning it

Well I ain't voting for ethier of these. Jurassic Park was one of the films that inspired me to become a filmmaker and I like all the Indy films.

You make it sound like riffing a film is a bad thing.  To me, riffing a good movie is a celebration of that film.  I love both of these films, and would love to see either one of them riffed apart at the seams.  It would only make me love the films more.

Well, nertz to you.

I like Temple of Doom, but I voted for it because it's goofy enough to merit a riffing.

I love Indy and hate Jurassic Park, but I'd be happy to see either one. As someone mentioned, Indy is goofy fun, so I think it would work well; and JP is just painful to watch. The whole film was like being stepped on repeatedly by animatronic dinos *blech* :)

Imagining the Jeff Goldblum imitations is enough for me to vote for it.
