This was recorded the day after the Castro theater performance.
The VOD version will be released soon!
Enjoy!
-
So, to anyone who saw this with Google Video because they didn't already own the Legend Films DVD, did the "he's turning into the hulk!" remark make any sense at all?

When? When? When? When? When?!??!?!?!?
Please. :)

Later this week.

Later this week.
To quote Mr. Burns, a great American, "Excellant"

I'm totally bummed! :'( I'm staying out of town this week working and I was all ready to watch Plan 9 tonight! Then I found out this afternoon that the VOD isn't available yet. I'm so dissapointed. I'm all alone in my hotel and I just so phyched to watch it. But, I'm not complaining. I understand the technical differences to get a DIVX. I'm not mad at 'ya! No hatin' here. Much love to the mad riffers... Just please don't make me wait too long for the VOD (yeah, I know, I should own the DVD, but since I don't, I figured I'd get the VOD and burn it. I doubt I'm man enough to watch Plan 9 without the rifftrax!)
:highfive:
-
You know what?? I just can't wait for the VOD, so I'm going to get the MP3 and watch the black and white Google Video with it. And when the VOD comes out, I'll buy that too so I can burn it. You guys are totally worth every penny of the extra 3.99 I'll spend! I love you guys so much that when I get rich, I'm going to make a large donation to you guys for all the great times you've brought me! And for getting me reacquainted with some of my older DVD's that were collecting dust. Expect me to get rich and donate any time now.... I feel a lottery win coming on!

Yeah unfortunately it takes time, since we have to render the video, upload to DivX, and wait for them to enable it on their server and provide us with the content identification tags. Once that's done, though, it's a piece of cake! ;)
-
Is it easy to burn the Divx VOD to DVD? I have a copy of plan 9, but wnat to make sure it works. I don't want to be stuck watching it exclusively on my PC though.

If you have a Divx compatible dvd player you can burn it to data dvd and play it on your tv.
-
Oh darn, so no luck on the regular DVD burn? Btw, that was a fast reply for this time of morning. If you get the VOD, do you also get an mp3 like you do when you purchase the NTSC rifftrax player version?

Don't know for sure, but the VOD and MP3 download sections are separate, so I'd guess that you don't.
-
Yeah, I burned a couple of the VOD's to DVD and they work just fine in my HD-DVD player (I know, Blu-Ray won, I bought it a year ago)

People keep saying Blu-Ray "won" just because of the Warner deal, but I don't necessarily believe that. I still don't plan on getting either of them until something I really want is exclusively available in one high-def format and not on regular DVD. Considering all the piracy that goes on, are most people really that obsessed with ultrahigh picture quality? In the future we'll probably end up downloading everything to hard drives, so the disc thing will be a moot point.
-
I agree with you 100%!!
So where is the VOD??? I've been waiting so (im)patiently!!!

Blu-Ray was winning before the Warner announcement, that deal just tipped the scales even farther. I'm also still waiting for a clear winner, and for the disks to start coming down in price, I would pay more for hi-def but not twice as much. It does look way better than standard DVDs on a big screen. So it would be nice to have it for movies I really like.
Tried syncing up with the Google video stream of Plan 9, about every other sync line needed adjustment making it a bit of a pain, so I guess I'll get the legend DVD.

People with the right equipment are. It is hard to watch standard-def stuff after watching high-def. I will say though that due to the higher prices I don't blind buy movies as much as I do with DVD. I am an early adopter with all kinds of gadgets and luckily I kept my blu-ray / hd-dvd purchases pretty even for the eventuality of a winner. With Warner dropping HD-DVD that was a pretty big blow. There are rumors around that Paramount is looking for a loophole in their exclusivity contract with HD-DVD as well. As long as my Toshiba holds out for a few years I will be happy. Hell if they start blowing out the players I might grab a couple because the Toshibas are one hell of an up-converting DVD player.

I want my VOD!!
Ahhh.. I loved Mikes solo, but I can't wait for Bill and Kevin's contribution.

Just got the Legend Films disk, now the joke makes sense, you have to be watching the colorized version to get it.
-
Am I the only one still waiting for the VOD?

I'm aware of that. I already had the Legend Films edition, and watched the RiffTrax with the colorized version. That's why I asked.

We're waiting, too. It's in DivX's hands at this point.
-
I know! I'm just giving you crap! We are all waiting patiently!

You guys already purchased CUTS. Can you not just go out, buy DivX...... ;)
Today Pinky, DivX, then tomorrow, the WORLD.
-
What they need to do is buy a movie studio, have them make Chris Kattan movies or Patrick Swayze movies or just bad movies that morons like, and then rifftrax them.
-
The VOD version is finally up. Now I get two Rifftrax in one day.
-
Yup! Meant to mention that elsewhere. But here will suffice.
-
GASP!
To paraphrase Tor Johnson, "TIME FOR TO GO DOWNLOAD"
-
Yaaaay! Next time it takes them this long, I'm going to go and bomb DIvX headquarters! ... Relax..... Just a joke...
-
Hmmmmmmn,
Downloaded riff for the RiffTrax player does not work with the box set edition of Plan 9 (the Ed Wood collection in the pink box). Riffing starts before the menu comes up.
Not to worry, I've ordered the colorized Legend version so I can at least hear this thing. It is okay, you cannot own too many copies of Plan 9. ::)
-
I thought they mentioned in the add that the RiffTrax was designed only for the Legend DVD version.
I know that they said that there are many different versions with many different edits, so that would throw off the sync if you used one of the other companies DVD's.
-
From the Plan 9 info page:
Please note: this track is best used in conjunction with the Legend Films DVD!
I took the term "best used" as,"It might work with....." Worth a shot.
-
Doesn't surprise me that the .riff wouldn't work right, but it might synch up just using the 'ol listen for the cues method. Then again, moot point for someone who's already ordered the Legend DVD. :P
-
Well, not so bad to have the colorized version--now I get the Hulk joke. Wow, colorization 'oooops!' at it's worst.
-
For some reason I thought the Rifftrax 3 Riffer DVD they had on Netflix would be the color version. (Then I looked at the cover.)

It was actually done on purpose by the Legend colorization team. I don't think it was in the script but it's one of those "liberties" that creative artsy-types like to take from time to time :)

-I just saw this classic (unriffed, but, it`s a movie which practically riffs itself) for the first time last night, and, what can I say? -Not much, I`m still dry-retching. This is definitely the best movie ever made, in spite of what everybody in the world says....(What do THEY know - Phyllis Steins) -Not only did I SEE it, but I saw it in a very appropriate location, - The Star and Shadow indy cinema in town (sorry, "toon" as we`re contractually obliged to call it here in Geordie land) -We had to bang on the huge garage door for ten minutes to be let in, then sit in a drafty basement-like place that smelled like a badly cared for old peoples home(....or "an old peoples home") -Honestly, if Kevin`s going to do anymore "Year at the movies" type stuff and he comes to the North of England he`s GOT to visit this place. It`s so rough I`M thinking of volunteering to work there- :rimshot:
