Title: Stinger?
Post by: SmilinJackRoss on November 01, 2006, 10:40:12 AM
I was thinking that tiny little "blink or you'll miss it" moment when the collapsable droid in the workshop kicks jar jar in the nether-regions.  But it almost happens too quick.  Maybe I'll repeat it five times.

I'm thinking when Anakin says, "I heard you say something to Obi-Wan about midichlorians. What are they?"
Good friggin question!!!!!

It's gotta be Anakin in the Naboo fighter out in space and his half-assed "Wahoo!"

I don't remember that, but it sounds like the PERFECT stinger.  ;D

Might be a bit untraditional as a Stinger, but go to the Options menu, highlight the THX logo and enter 11, then 3, then 8. :^)

Something involving Jar Jar.  Please don't make me try and remember specifics.

C-3PO: What do you mean, "naked?"

Or how about Darth Maul swinging his lightsaber back and forth in order to create sparks while Obi Wan is hanging. I agree with Mike and Kevin that it seemed a little pointless.

Yeah, but you have to pronounce it "expecially."  That's the way real actors do it.

Isn't this "How Rude" catch phrase the same as the one that the Olsen Twins had on Full House?  When they were like, 3 years old?  How horrible is that?

Whoa, I just admitted that watched Full House.  Whoops.

Wow.  good call there.  I knew I had heard it before, I can't believe that out of all the catch phrases in the world he could have invented, Lucas decided to use that one.

Stephanie Tanner.

Sheesh.

The best stinger would probably be that "anteater" guy delivering his only line.  Either that, or Jake Lloyd saying "Doo steamy doughpot, slame-o."

One of my very favorite revelations of TPM was that intergalactic insults are just like Earth English insults, only with slightly different vowel sounds.  Awesome.

I'm half-remembering a moment--I think when Anakin is in the cockpit of the fighter--and he says something like "This is terrible!"
Mike or Kevin noted that it's a perfect review of the whole film.

Either that or "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Again, for a movie that you people claim to be unwatchable and unendurable you seem to remember a lot of very specific moments and lines?even phonetically quoting whole passages of Huttese!

I think you mean the part in which he said, "This is tense!"  Meaning, I suppose, "This is a completely new word and in no way an attempt to create a catchphrase!"

I'm with Sampo. Obi-Wan's "I have a bad feeling about this" nails it. I know that, like a Hitchcock cameo, Lucas wanted to get the catchphrase out of the way early, but it's an amazingly fourth wall breaking line.

I'd have to go with "Yipee!!" or when they try to sneak on the ship and the robot guard says "Oh yeah, your under arrest." or something like that.

In my opinion, the best stingers are the ones where you're like "what was that all about."  So I nominate that weird smile that Qui-Gon and Obi Wan give when Anakin introduces himself to Obi Wan.  Was there something funny about that.

Also, there are many Jake Lloyd moments when he's trying to be serious that would work.
