https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rifftrax/rifftrax-live-2020-hobgoblins-and-amityville-4-riffed-live/
Thanks to you, the Kickstarter community, we've had SEVEN consecutive years of successful campaigns to help us fund our nationwide RiffTrax Live shows. We're extremely grateful, because these events wouldn't exist without your help!
This time, in embarking upon our eleventh year of RiffTrax Live, we've selected a fantastic duo of monstrously campy B-movies that are perfect for riffing: an ALL-NEW riff of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 favorite, HOBGOBLINS, and the most Halloween-y, cheesy horror flick about an evil lamp you've never seen, AMITYVILLE: THE EVIL ESCAPES!
We will once again broadcast the ensuing hilarity to 600+ movie theaters across America on June 11th and October 21st, respectively, thanks to our friends at Fathom Events.

I see that there is only one Kickstarter level that includes physical media, and it's only for Hobgoblins. Assuming of course that these are both successfully kickstarted, will physical media for both films eventually be made available for purchase by non-Kickstarter people? Or at least the Amityville one, since it isn't offered as part of a Kickstarter?
-
Yay! Hobgoblins is a personal favorite. Now if I could just find $2000 laying around somewhere I could attend one of these things live!

Any physical media will be offered for sale on the site, usually a week or two after backers get theirs. Amityville physical media, as well as BD's are likely (unable to confirm 100%) to be stretch goals - so stay tuned to the campaign.

Wow...it's already close to 50% funded. 8)

BD's for both would be awesome :)

At least you could buy them when they arrive on Rifftrax's web site!

I wish they'd throw up a couple stretch goals to rebroadcast some of the Theater-Only shows. I'd love to see Mothra again someday...

At least that one we got an MP3. I really want to see the 5 Doctors again and it doesn't look like that is ever going to be allowed to be released.
-
It's a Wonderful Life MP3 stretch goal. Please, please!
-
i seem to remember that cineplex not wanting to was the reason there weren't any further RTLs in canada after the first one, but did they ever give an explanation? the screening i went to was almost completely full. certainly seemed like it would've been more profitable than showing deadpool on opening day afternoon to eight people (so many afternoon showings were so empty when i was in ottawa).

Fully funded in under a day!

So is Amityville the first made for TV movie they're riffing live? Wait, the Sharknado films were made for TV, weren't they?

All the Asylum movies were made for your TV (i.e. straight to DVD)...

But not specifically for a network like Sci-Fi? The latest VOD is made for TV too. I would love if they did more especially from the 70's. Riding with Death worked well for MST. Ok now I' going off topic, but it's pretty quiet around here these days.

New stretch goals. No Its a Wonderful Life this year. But in its place is a Charade VOD, the public domain Hitchcock-like film. Theres also Just the Jokes riffs for Mortal Kombat and Gymkata (!!!). There's also a DVD for the Live Show for Amityville, if that's your thing.
-
Also worth noting: Charade would be a Mike/Bridget riff, which is a combo I don't think we've seen since the Grey's Anatomy riff.

Don't forget NEXT. That came after Grey's.
-
Oooh yeah. I forgot she was in NEXT. I've really got to take advantage of the app and revisit some of the older 'trax. Streaming TV is making me forget what it was like.
-
Oh hell, I'm going to actually have to own a copy of Gymkata now. And I still remember renting it back in the 90's that one time. Yes, it is that memorably bad.
-
1 of the Amityville VIPs became available. Since they all sold on the first day I'm assuming people that would have liked to have gone but missed out on it aren't looking for it anymore. Just a head's up.

Or you could go to Justwatch.com (https://www.justwatch.com) and find out where it's playing. If all else fails, just purchase it or rent it for your Roku/Amazon Stick/Apple TV. Or you could purchase the DVD. The choice is yours.

I can't afford the VIP packages, but it's a dream of mine to do it one day. But even if I had that kind of money to spare, I don't understand how people actually get there fast enough. Those sell out instantly. I swear, I went there minutes after the announcement E-Mail and all the VIP packages were already sold out.

Got some backer-based stretch goals.
6500 backers gets us a Rifftones song.
7000 backers gets us a Fishing with Rifftrax video.
7500 gives us a Blu-ray option for Amityville.
8000 gives us an Avengers: Endgame riff.
8500 gives us a Blu-ray option for Hobgoblins.
9000 gives us a Thank You slide before one of the shows, with the name of everyone who pledged at least $15.
9250 gives us a Neverending Story riff (!)
9500 will give the Gymkata riff to all backers of at least $15.
10,000 will give the Mortal Kombat riff to all backers of at least $15.
I REALLY want that Neverending Story riff!

I REALLY want that Neverending Story riff!
It would make for a good companion to the Cinester Theater riff.
-
As always - anyone who doesn't back at the $1 level is crazy. At worst it's ten shorts for the price of one, and at best it's up to $10 gift certificate for $1
-
Mortal Kombat is in, only $10,000 away from Charade.
-
Backers: Check your email for a discount code. Also, they're going to go ahead and produce that Hobgoblins Blu-ray, even though we're a little short.
-
Yeah, I spotted the code right after I hit delete and had to retrieve the email :P
-
Well it was just announced that the Hobgoblins date is tentatively moved to August 6th.
As a consolation prize, all of the live shows are 20% off until Thursday. No code required, and that includes physical media.

Usually limit myself to two shorts and one feature a month but decided to get two of the live shorts and the Carnival of Souls riff.
