Title: One thing I love about Rifftrax
Post by: RiffApprentice on April 14, 2007, 07:45:11 AM
And that I'm starting to notice with every one I buy, is that they reveal things about the movies I would never have noticed otherwise, or didn't realize was as rampant and thrown in your face. Like how blatantly racist Episode I is, or the fact that nothing happens in 'Halloween' until the last 20 minutes of the film.

Or that the director of Troll 2 committed suicide after making it.

Urban legend.

According to IMDB, he's alive and well, though he has only worked on 10 projects since then.

Don't tell anyone, but the reason you don't notice is that Halloween is actually a good and competently made movie. It builds up atmosphere and tension and such so you aren't sitting around wondering when people are going to have things inserted into them the whole time, unlike a lot of crappy horror movies where there's a killing every thirty seconds and it still drags.

Like, say, the Grudge.

I had never noticed that Night of the Living Dead was half horror movie, half carpentry primer.

That movie is why I keep a load of 2 x 4s and boxes of nails in my garage...... one just never knows.

Well, clearly he needs to slow down.

Coincidentally, I keep a catatonic woman in my basement for a similar reason.

Ah, but you all must remember, all the people in that house died! What you need to find is a missile silo, or a shopping mall to hide in.

Precisely. Toss the catatonic woman to the ravenous zombies and hightail it out while they're tearing her to pieces.

Me, I've got elaborate makeup and a few dismembered corpses. Hey, look, the zombies never eat each other, ok?

It's okay, Smith. We're here to kill you, not to judge you.
