That site still exists?? Holy crap. That's been around since I was in high school! It has not changed in ten years. And I don't think anyone really knows why it's there, who put it there, etc. Probably just to get people to ask those questions!

I had no idea it's been around so long!

I just stumbled upon the link whilst reading Nathan Fillion's blog on his MySpace page.

Yeah man that site is old as hell!

Info from doing a whois search:
Creation Date: 10-oct-1999

I had just graduated high school when that record was created. The site is 8 frigging years old now - that is still, relatively speaking, the formative years of the Web. Obviously flash was around but was only in its infancy in being used to deliver web information. Pretty crazy how fast things change.
