This appears to be one of those affiliate networks that runs old shows, and MST3K will soon be part of their lineup. Too early to hope they do Turkey Day marathons too?

Neato!

Ive never heard of this channel before. I guess its like TV Land. Before they stop showing classic show and started making there own crappy shows. Hell they got The Colgate Comedy Hour and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Talk about Retro.
-
That is (pardon my French) Fucking cool!! I am now in the market for a capture card!!! It would be nice to upgrade my DVDs to a direct broadcast capture instead of coming from a VHS tape!!
-
According to MSampo via Twitter they only have 26 episodes, mostly PD but not all: https://twitter.com/MSampo/status/448863473108529152

No closer than Olean or Utica? Drat! Problem is we've already got Me-TV in these parts (Rochester, NY), so they may feel that another retro station would be overkill.
-
Awesome! Hopefully it does well and they pick up some more episodes down the line!
-
Was afraid of that... Well we will see the list before too long...

Satellite News had the list already. Like Sampo said, it's mostly the PD episodes.. but Space Mutiny!

Wow. MST3K AND old Filmation cartoons? I need to start pestering my cable provider...
-
So we have a channel labeled RETRO here in MA on Comcast, but it doesn't appear to be the correct Retro channel...
http://www.myretrotv.com/affiliates--schedules.html
No MST3K visible on the schedule for the Retro channel we have here. BOOOOOOO! :-\
-
For those who live in Southeast Pennsylvania/South Jersey/Philadelphia region and get Comcast: Is Channel 168 the correct RetroTV? I'm having trouble telling from the map in the link.

Same here in New Hampshire. It's apparently "Retroplex", not Retro TV. Double BOO!

Still no dice here in Rochester. Was honestly surprised no unofficial streams popped up last night, considering how many MST3k streamers are out there.
Also, it looks like the schedule got bumped around a little bit due to rights issues, per Satellite News.
Since we announced this, there were some rights issues — dull surprise! — and the new lineup of episodes is:
103- The Mad Monster
105- The Corpse Vanishes
211- First Spaceship On Venus
301- Cave Swellers
303- Pod People
320- The Unearthly
323- The Castle of Fu Manchu
402- The Giant Gila Monster
409- The Indestructible Man
412- Hercules And The Captive Women
419- The Rebel Set
424- Manos: The Hands of Fate
504- Secret Agent Super Dragon
506- Eegah!
507- I Accuse My Parents
511- Gunslinger
517- Beginning of the End
518- The Atomic Brain
610- The Violent Years
616- Racket Girls
619- Red Zone Cuba?
701- Night Of The Blood Beast
812- The Incredibly Strange Creatures…
908- The Touch of Satan
1002- Girl in Gold Boots
1009- Hamlet
They have added: Cave Dwellers, Pod People, Secret Agent Super Dragon and Eegah!
Removed from the list are: Space Mutiny, Time Chasers, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank and Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders.
The schedule for the next two months:
July 5: The Mad Monster
July 12: The Corpse Vanishes
July 19: First Spaceship On Venus
July 26: The Unearthly
August 2: Cave Dwellers
August 9: Pod People
August 16: The Castle of Fu Manchu
August 23: The Giant Gila Monster
August 30: The Indestructible Man

I saw MST3K: THE MOVIE on Encore Avenue yesterday. The TV version always has the higher theater seats blocking more of THIS ISLAND EARTH. Not sure why.
-
So it turns out we get RetroTV, but not through my cable provider. This means I have no DVR with which to determine the time of broadcast, and they left out that sorta crucial detail on their website. Anyone know what time they play MST3K?

Saturday nights at 8, Sunday afternoons at 5.

Awesome. I found the show Saturday Night and enjoyed some Pod People (And a couple episodes of that Off Beat Cinema show. Incredibly Strange Creatures etc. is hard to watch without riffing.) before turning in last night. Didn't know there'd be a second show. I'll have to make sure to tune in.

I figured that was so it looked better on 16:9 TVs

Dropped cable over 2 years ago and the wife dropped her Dish programming a couple weeks back so I hooked up my air HD antenna and got it about 30ft in the air and I can pick up Retro TV sometimes..
Lot of trees around though so maybe in the Fall or Winter when the leaves fall the signal will come in stronger :o

I salute your dropping of cable and Dish. Never had Dish or any satellite, and dropped cable in the 1990's.

This was coming for a while now because the wife was having all sorts of problems with her account and now she has a $200 early termination fee attached to it so that won't go away any time soon..
Football season is back and that's the main reason getting that antenna up so I could catch the Sunday games but getting Retro TV (along with nearly 30 channels total) was an added bonus :o

I feel your pain. I don't get here in South Jersey for some reason. There is a RETRO, just not the correct one. I'll be in the corner sobbing my eyes out. :'(

It's kind of fun watching these episodes old-school. Signal via antenna, no DVR for commercial skipping. I can't even run it through my VCR to get cheap VHS copies. I just have to watch it when it's on and try to use the bathroom during the commercials. Reminds me of the old days...

Why can't you record it on VCR?

Whats a VCR?

Whats a VCR?
That thing sitting on top of my 13-years-unplugged TV.

does that unplugged tv sit on top of another tv?

LOL. No, it sits on the floor. I stopped watching tv about 1999 or so.

Amen to that! I spent an entire summer capturing from VHS! I discovered that even sitting in a cool, dry place, ie, a closet, my VHS tapes were degrading. So, I captured them, rar and par'd them. Took forever. Now, I notice that the old style cd-roms I used degrade over time, even in case logic cases.
I should just shell out the money, and buy every MST available.

Why can't you record it on VCR?
Because even antenna TV is digital now and the old VCR I have doesn't like it. I could probably get one of those digital converter thingies, then hook THAT to the VCR and the antenna to THAT, but since I have most of these episodes on DVD anyway, it's not worth the trouble.

Oh, I didn't know VCR's didn't like the digital converter. I never got the digital antenna thingy.
