Cyborg Cop 2 is the special kind of terrible movie that has failed before you’re even done reading the title. That’s right folks, Cyborg Cop 2 does not even manage to contain a single cyborg cop. Technically, the main character, Jack Ryan (before his shadow was recruited) is a DEA agent, so he is actually neither a cyborg nor a cop.

The second thing we should tell you about Cyborg Cop 2 is that multiple characters wear gigantic fanny packs all the time. Like the kind a tourist without any dignity would wear instead of just sporting a sandwich board that says “Please pickpocket me and my idiot family.” The fanny packs are never addressed or commented on. Perhaps they are meant to distract from the fact that there is not a cyborg cop in the movie Cyborg Cop 2.

None of the RiffTrax performers have seen Cyborg Cop 1, nor have any members of the writing staff seen Cyborg Cop 1, yet we were able to follow the plot fairly well. This is not meant to imply that we did not have any questions. We did, namely “So is the cop a cyborg?” and “Seriously, is there a cyborg cop in this thing or not?”

Take David Carradine’s Future Force, remove the robotic remote controlled arm as it is makes the cop too much like a cyborg, and you’ve got Cyborg Cop 2. Strap on your fanny pack and join Mike, Kevin, and Bill for low budget action cheese at its finest.

Note: contains some pointless nudity.

Really?! Riffing Cyborg Cop 2 before riffing Cyborg Cop 1?! That one is the heart-and-soul of the Cyborg Cop movie series.  I thought you guys had integrity!

And pointless nudity: is there such a thing?

Just tried to download using High-TV and it just starts to stream. Is that right? Which download is best for ordinary (desk top) computer viewing?

Any nudity is good nudity in my book. Well, almost. I do have my limits.

Same thing happened to me and then I read this:  "If the file plays in your browser, right-click and choose "Save link as""

The High-TV download is about 1.8gb.  If you have the space on your PC I'd say go with that one.

Five minutes in? Already better than the Robocop reboot.

Thanks. That works.

Going to watch with Hormel short. This should be a good double feature.

Could be a case of erectile dysfunction.

So is this just an action movie then? is there anything spectacularly goofy in the movie itself (other than the title)?

This release will make fanny packs even more popular than they are now........well, popular with 70 year old women in Vegas playing the slot machines.

Bah! This happened YESTERDAY?! I'm slacking with my obsessive fandom. I should have watched this twice already by now. But I'm sure you guys will still take my money.

Is that really Bruce J. Mitchell as the singer in the trailer?! I know he's a singer & guitar player on the side, so it probably is! Seeing my favourite underdog actor from MST3K again is a real joy.

I kind of doubt it, the guys are known for "naming" people in movies who happen to look similar to other actors and such. (See: The infamous Lisa Kudrow is in Time Chasers fiasco.)  A check of Mitchell's IMDB page only lists "Final Sacrifice" as something he's worked in or on.  Which is a shame, I actually kind of liked him in that movie. I agree with Crow from the episode. We needed a whole series centered around Rowsdower.

BTW, that was a GREAT call-back by the guys.

Also, it was South African not Canadian--though South African films to have a kind of Canadian feel to them. What was the S.A. film that was MSTed?  Alien from LA?

I was surprised they didn't make any Iowa jokes for the scenes that were supposed to be in Des Moines.

The most famous was Space Mutiny. Probably a few others too.

There you go. I always forget that and remember Space Mutiny as being Canadian!

Servo does make the crack in the movie about it only being good at chucking Canadians around and the smell of it being "rife with back-bacon."  So, obviously, the MST3K writers thought it was a Canadian movie too.

I would never have guessed this was filmed in Africa as the movie did not have any black guys in it......oh, SOUTH AFRIKA.......never mind.

Hmmm...I seem to have liked the first one better when I watched them both years ago (link to thread (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?topic=10241.msg302985)). Wonder why they skipped it?

Well, there were some topless black sweat shop slaves. So so wrong, of course.

Well, the production would have gone to South Africa to save money, same reason so many go to Canada. Low budget movies tend to look a lot alike after a while.

It doesn't matter who we are. What matters is our plan.

Maybe everyone finds it so obvious that there's no need to comment on it, or maybe I just missed the reference, or maybe the joke just isn't worth it, but I can't find any reference to the antagonist's last name. Starkraven. It's an obvious reference to the phrase "stark, raving mad", no?

I don't recall a riff on that either.  In fact I don't even recall a riff on the main character of this movie having the same name as another fictional character from a popular series of books/films.  I would've expected at least a "Get off my plane!" or something!

I wonder what guys like that think of doing movies like this as compared to his small part in "The Usual Suspects"?

The checks must be nice.
