I was pretty shocked at how much I like it. Andre Braugher is my favorite. The episode where they are all talking about how to read him was fantastic.
I enjoyed it too, but I kind of wish they hadn't gone down the road of a potential romance between Peralta and Santiago. I'd really like to see a show keep its characters friendly work colleagues for its entire run and never try to pair them up. Kind of like the dynamic between Leslie and Ron on Parks and Rec. Still! A very funny episode nonetheless, as I've come to expect from this show.
I like it when they don't go down the obvious romance route, but there are already too many characters. I don't want another :)
Although PLEASE bring back the Pontiac Bandit!
Enlisted does a similar thing, though it's more Stripes than anything else. People who haven't seen that really should, as it's great.
Andy Samberg is best when he's tempered by another cast member, rather than taking over the whole show. The recent episode used him well, having all of the cast have basically the same amount of screen time. The only cast member I'm not totally on board with is Gina - she's too cartoonish and without a whole lot of depth. They've done great work to round out the other members, but she's really only a wacky one-liner machine.
Stephen Root appeared in the last episode. And thus, TV is won by Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
It was Terry in fat make up. You know, I REALLY hope Terry ends up in a Marvel movie somewhere. The guy is built like a superhero and has fantastic comedic chops that would serve him well with the Marvel feel. Maybe in the next Guardians movie.
