Title: The 'Name That Quote!' Game
Post by: Malt on October 29, 2013, 12:30:58 AM
Pretty self explanatory.
I'm going to start it off with a real doozy though. This one is beyond the realm of obscurity, and ventures into the 'why bother' category. It may tip the scales and even outright sabotage my very own thread, but I think someone here just maybe can pull it off. Do you dare accept my challenge?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That may seem a bit too high on the challenge scale, but I bet if I give a good enough hint some folks out there might remember.

1st Hint: Season 1 (TV) Animated

Knowing you, I'm going to say Space Ghost Coast to Coast.  I think he says it every episode.

Good guesses but nope. We're almost there. I'll give some bonus hints since I am about ready to pass the torch. The quote is his catch phrase, sort of, he was a one-shot character which never re-appeared.

1: Season 1 (TV) Animated

2: Cowboy Hat

3: Nuclear Energy

I can't even remember who that is right now, so nope. :P

Last hint, then I'll pass it along to whoever wants it if no one guesses right by tonight. I'd best most of you are at least somewhat familiar with him though.

"Hi there!"

1: Season 1 (TV) Animated

2: Cowboy Hat

3: Nuclear Energy

4: Educational Video

5: Video game cameo

I can't give any more hints without being overly specific. Good Luck. Told you guys it'd be a tough one, but you might slap yourselves when you see who it is.

Ah! What's his face. The nuclear cartoon guy from The Simpsons! Also from Bart's Nightmare, where that was one of the few soundbytes that got digitized....

Mr. Nuclear? Was it Mr. Nuclear?

Few games won my heart as quickly as that game did with that opening scene.

Anyway:
"Have we become so fearful, have we become so cowardly, that we must extinguish a man? Because he carries the blood of a current enemy?"

Tripe got it, right down to the season. It was Picard in "The Drumhead".

Lord I'm way too familiar with the evolution of all things Picard, I'm both happy and slightly horrified by this realization. ;)

Ok:

Quote
"What happened?"
[meekly] "I'm disabled."
"How are you disabled?"
"My legs."
"What's wrong with your legs?"
"They're disabled"

"He was deathly pale, just like a waxen image, and the red eyes glared with the horrible vindictive look which I knew so well. As I looked, the eyes saw the sinking sun, and the look of hate in them turned to triumph. But, on the instant, came the sweep and flash of Jonathan's great knife. I shrieked as I saw it shear through the throat."

That's the writers, who is the character?
I'm pretty sure that this detail is not delineated in the rules, so I will call this quote "Brian the Liquid Tortoise" and therefore have given it a name as strongly implied in the 'Name That Quote!' title.

It was Santa Claus: The Movie.

Let's see if we can try this again.

There are two ways to do this, in my opinion: either give more clues of the original source (movie, book, TV Show, person, etc.) or more quotes from the same source.  I'll start us off easy, just to get us going.

"Hotchka!"

There are actually two correct answers for this one, at least.
