Figured this game could use a thread of it's own since I'm sure some of us will be using "I have kids" as an excuse for getting it. I know I am.
Picked up the TRU exclusive Crystal version of Lightning McQueen & two of the TRU exclusive Power Disc packs today for Christmas presents. Sucks to have to wait that long, but oh well.
Anyway, saw today that there's going to be some Wall-E related discs coming out as well as the expected Phineas & Ferb ones. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some Gravity Falls stuff!
So, who has the game already? What do you think?

I have it and am really enjoying it. Pretty well finished Monsters U and The Incredibles, about an hour or so into Pirates.
Not sure I'm going to be doing all of the collecting they want me to do, as you don't seem to get all that much value for the additional figures - Seems like the mostly play the same within each set, and it's a long time before my son will be old enough to play.
I will pick up one of the two currently available playsets (probably Lone Ranger) and see if having a second figure for the same set is worthwhile.
The only powerdisc I have so far is Mickey's Jallopy, and I haven't even used it yet :P

Apparently if you buy a power disk pack and take it hope, you can find out what disks are in it by using your home portal thing.
It seems a whole lot more creative than Skylanders, but eh random powerdisk thing is a bit of a sham.
-
What are these power discs? Are they like in Monster Rancher, where random CDs just created monsters for use in the game? That seemed like a cool concept, but when I tried to play Monster Rancher, the game turned out to be really boring.

I assume you mean without opening the pack? Because I can also bring it home and open it to see.

Yes, unopened, which means you can likely return it at your local store.

Good to keep in mind. Might help prevent "I already have these!" meltdowns from my kids
-
Good to see them releasing fan made toy boxes. I'd been waiting a while for that.

Walmart has starter kits on sale for $37. Picked one up for Wii U this morning.

Got a duplicate on Mike's New Car if anyone else has a dup they want to trade.
Also saw that each TRU pack has a different UPC so you can tell what you're getting as an exclusive before you buy. Had I known I would've checked before I just grabbed the last 2 packs.

Just saw this:
You might think you own all of the Disney Infinity content, but think again. Disney hasn’t made a big deal out of this — in fact, it never officially said anything about it — but there is one more item. Disney is in the process of shifting its theme parks from paper tickets to RFID-enabled Magic Bands that will let them track guests’ whereabouts. Right now, these are in use in a limited fashion at Disney World in Orlando.
If you put the Magic Band onto your Infinity portal, it actually unlocks a set of dragon-themed toys and backgrounds related to the New Fantasyland area of the park. You can buy used Magic Bands on eBay for about $40.
-
Huh? Why would they keep that quiet?
-
Not sure.
-
They want to make it a bigger deal later when the bands are more widely used in the parks?
-
Well, kiss your wallets goodbye. About a month ago, this was hinted at but it's now confirmed:

More details at E3. And Groot appears to be in there too. Good for Groot!

I'm in!
-
Both of my kids are freaking out over this news.
-
They just announced there will (finally) be a Gravity Falls toy set & figures! (They showed Mabel's pink kitten fists in the Tinker Bell & Stitch promo)
-
Disney 2.0 is in the mail to me, but I just happened into a store and accidentally walked out with the Spider-Man and the GotG playsets...
Argh! Hurry up mail!
-
I'm a few hours in and having fun with it. Only played Avengers so far.
I have some concern that the playsets will all just feel like The Incredibles in DI 1.0, which was my least favourite of the first lot of playsets.
But it's still enjoyable. Hoping at least GotG has a different feel.
-
And Infinity 3.0 just announced:

Yeah. It's Star Wars themed. If you still have a wallet, well, you won't. Oh, and some Tron characters get figures too.
-
I was pretty disappointed with how little game play there was in 2.0. Unless there are more playsets this time around, I think I'm out.
-
Hmmm. I just read there are five (announced?) playsets - Three Star Wars, 1 Avengers and one Inside Out. That makes me more interested... But not sold.

Robin Hood have a figure yet?
