Title: RIP Dick Clark
Post by: Mrs. Dick Courier on April 18, 2012, 01:05:11 PM
I didn't know if I should post this in TV or music.  I don't cry very often when I hear of a celeb dying, but I did tear up at this.  I grew up watching Bandstand.

Plus Levon Helm has cancer, and Robin Gibb is in a coma.  So many good ones dying.

And yes, I called Robin Gibb a good one, love the Bee Gees.

A true legend in television.  They mentioned on Fox News that he, at one point, had shows on three separate networks at the same time - Bandstand on ABC, Bloopers on NBC and Pyramid on CBS.  Which is unheard of today, or even back then.

Used to watch Bandstand every Saturday back in the day.  Always hated that the acts would lip-sync when performing on there, but I guess it didn't really matter.

And yes, Robin Gibb is a great one.  No shame in liking the Bee Gees.

Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are only a year younger than Dick Clark.  It makes me sad they might be on their way out soon too.

The Shat has enough bluster to carry him into the next three decades, at least.
