Title: The Rifftrax Forum "Online Yard Sale" Thread
Post by: k1 on April 18, 2012, 06:56:10 AM
Oh look! A thread for posting stuff you don't want/need anymore that you think people on here might have an interest in!

*Examples: The iPod I sold to Dr. Who, Nerdy stuff, craft type stuff, etc.*

I may have some things to list later, but figured I'd start the thread now.

Would this be like the Rifftrax version of Craigslist, minus all the sketchy job offerings and solicitations for prostitution?

Ha! Suckers, bringing swords to a gun fight...

My Kindle Fire has been a bit annoying lately (apps not getting current info until I shutdown/restart), but I don't use it enough to justify getting another tablet.

Me too. That's why I'm keeping my iPad and selling hers.

Speaking of Kindles, I may sell my Wifi Kindle. I forget the specs on it, but I think it's the $79 one on Amazon

Maybe the Plus part worked really well as to not warrant using any more.

I got Volume XXIII, the newest volume, of MST3k for my birthday, which I already own.  My friend got it at Best Buy and the closest Best Buy to me is over 25 miles.  It's new and in wrapping.  Thought I'd ask if anybody wants it here before I sell it on Ebay.

I'm a hoarder, so I don't have much to offer, but if you bros have any Green Lantern stuffs that you're not using, MORE than happy to take it off your hands.

Also, if anyone gets a new monitor and no longer needs their old one, I'd probably be interested in that as well.

Actually I already have something to offer. Who wants my unused digital copy code for Scarface and To Kill a Mockingbird? I'll probably either send the slip to you for free (except shipping charges) or I'll just PM you the code if you're ok with that. First come, first serve.

And no, they're not Ultraviolet digital copies, so don't worry.

Edit: Just gave To Kill a Mockingbird away, but I still have the Scarface (the '83 one) code.

Digital copies is a great idea. I probably have a ton of those I can put up here. I will have to check into that.

I do know I have a digital download of some bonus tracks from the limited edition of Damien Jurado's new album. They accidentally sent me an extra code for all the 7 inch vinyls if anyone is interested.

Some of it will be. We're drowning in McDonald's Happy Meal TF thingies, mostly, but there may be some other stuff. We've also got a crap load of blind packaged extras and what not that we'll probably just end up giving away to anyone who wants them (just pay for postage and such). Also comics and comic/possibly video game (if Pak doesn't have a heart attack getting rid of them) magazines. I'm going to be going through our toy collection and possibly clearing out big, non-essential chunks of that as well, depending.

Hey, bumping an old thread, because I remembered something about the digital copies codes - anyone have any Disney Rewards Points codes they have never redeemed? I actually started collecting those things when they had a sweet Tron: Legacy lenticular print that I coveted greatly, and now I still redeem them. So basically I'm saying if you don't want 'em I'd gladly take 'em off your hands. :)

I have 2 or 3 that I've never redeemed. Where do I find the code? Is it on an insert inside the case? (If it is, I probably don't have the codes. The kids are notorious for taking out the jackets from video games & movies and either destroying, losing, coloring on, cutting, or who knows what else with them.)

Also, I still have that iPad up for grabs if anyone is interested.

This is a great idea!

I have a ton of stuff listed on eBay, but the hassle of listing (time/energy involved) makes it so that - for me - something has to be worth at least $15 for me to bother listing it anymore.  So I've got stuff that's less than that.  A bunch of it I've listed on www.Swap.com, but no takers.  So I may move some of that Swap.com stuff over here over time.

Just in case anyone has books they want to get rid of, and they don't have any takers here, this is a great/fun site: www.bookcrossing.com  People mark books (something I don't recommend for anything collectible) with a label that gives an introduction notice and a code (that the person gets from the site), then they leave the book in a public place.  When someone finds and 'adopts' the book, that person can go to the site and comment about that particular copy (how they found it, how they liked it, where they left it if they passed it on).  Many books journey around the world that way.

Got no hate for the Kindle. However, if you really are an Amazon employee, might I suggest that you pass along this idea? I have a Prime membership, and one of the perks I was really looking forward to using was "borrowing" books for Kindle from the Amazon Store. However, that (last I checked) is apparently a perk only available to Prime users with an actual Kindle, and not a tablet w/Kindle app. It's understandable; you guys want to move product, but it was a little disappointing. :\

I'd make an offer except I don't have any money.  Maybe you should try selling it for $10,000 on Ebay!  :)

I would possibly be interested in the movies if they weren't so heavy and therefore expensive to ship.

My wife is looking to unload a bunch of her Mary Kay inventory.  Pretty much whatever she has in stock she is offering 40% off (I believe).

So just throwing that out there.  I know this forum is comprised of mostly guys, but perhaps something nice for your llllllllllllllllllladies....  (They also have men's products.)

If you order something maybe I'll throw in a free copy of one of our iRiffs or something.  Or some other random OWC merch I have left over if it's a big order.

[Didn't really have the mental energy for writing this, but seeing the boxes over and over again is a drain in itself.]

I have a ton of Maxell Gold, Maxell HG (high grade), and Fuji PRO 120min VHS videotapes (probably 70 or more total).  Most written to once and watched maybe twice.  Actually, three 7-packs of the Maxell HGs are still in the original shrink-wrap.  [I bought them to do MST tape trading before being able to switch to DVD and later finding 'DAP' for the last few fills.]

Does anyone at all still use videotapes that would want a bunch in basically 'like new' condition?  [I bulk-erased each one, so they are 'clean'.]

If so, I'm thinkin' REAL cheap (like: 10ยข each), plus exact shipping costs.  I'd just rather they get to someone who could use them (and stop cluttering my house).

If needed, I have a Sony VCR that I could also include rather cheap (though because it can't be shipped Media Mail, the shipping on it would be pricier, but still at cost).

PM me if interested in any and I can give an exact count of each type.  [No sense doing the work of counting exactly how many if no-one's interested.]

[I'll edit this post to reflect it if anyone takes any off my hands.]

I have unused Ultraviolet digital copy codes for Harry Potter 7 Pt. 2 and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (the Fincher version) if anyone wants them. Keep in mind that Ultraviolet digital copies can only be streamed. I also still have a digital copy for Scarface (De Palma version) which works with iTunes and Windows and such. If anyone wants the codes and instructions, PM me and I'll PM the details. First come, first served.

Edit: Deal complete

Attention comic book geeks: So Pak and I are clearing our house out to make room for the little bundle of joy due in a few weeks and we have an absolute crapload of old Wizard, Toyfare and other toy themed magazines along with a bunch of comics. I'm actually not looking to sell so much as just get this stuff out of our house ASAP so only payment for postage would be expected. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll do my best to send a list of what we've got.

Also for any Lord of the Rings fans, a friend gave me the Blizzard Games Combat Hex Balrog miniature which actually isn't so miniature and has frankly been a pain in the ass to store. It's still sealed in the box but the box is dented pretty bad. Also a freebie to anyone interested except for postage.

Attention music fans:

I have free download codes for the following albums/singles from Marian Call.

Vanilla
The Song of the Month Project
Got to Fly
Love & Harmony (Single)
The Kick Some Start Song (Single)
Something Fierce (2 CD)

I already had them on CD and got download codes from her recent Kickstarter thing.  So whoever wants them, let me know. I can split them up if you already have some of the albums or whatever.

I also still have the download code for the Damien Jurado B-sides. I don't know if the code has expired or not.

Okay ladies and gents, I have a near mint copy of MST3K volume 10.1, the original one with Godzilla Vs. Megalon, for sale, for $160 if anyone is interested.  That's about $15 cheaper than the lowest price on Amazon, and if I can sell it directly here, I don't have to pay their commission.  Any takers?  Send me a private message since I'll probably forget to check this thread regularly.

And, since I was in st Louis this past weekend for my moms 79th birthday, I got to give her the iPad that I got from K1's sale.  This replaces the one that she had that was stolen by a nurse that worked at her retirement place.   Yes, the nurse got fired and I called apple and they killed the old one remotely.

Fortunately, I downloaded the apps she liked, added her books on kindle , etc while at home as she was very anxious to play slot machine games on it.  Also loaded it with music she likes and about 500 old family photos I converted to jpegs.   I think she just about wants a giant lanyard for it so she can play slots 16 hours a day.

That went very well.

Well normally I wouldn't sell it and create a hole in my collection, but $150 - $175 sounds like a good offer, and I can take some of the proceeds and buy the 10.2 version.  Also, it may just happen some day that Shout can release a new set that includes the Godzilla movie and the price will plummet.  Might as well cash out while I still can.

Also have a used 8 GB 2nd Gen Nano. Model A1199 (http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=onewacom06-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=B000EPHP4U).

And a barely used PSP Limited Edition Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U9TXJ0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000U9TXJ0&linkCode=as2&tag=onewacom06-20)  I don't have the Daxter game anymore as I sold it awhile back.  I do still have the Family Guy video UMD.
I'd like to sell off all my PSP stuff as a bundle, so there's also...
Hard shell case that holds 2 memory cards & two UMDs.

My wife has a whole mess of home made crochet scarves & baby blankets if people are interested in those.  I can take pictures of them & post them on here if there is interest.  They make nice holiday gifts. (Tripe & his wife have scarves she made.)

There's also a ton of Mary Kay products if you want to get someone something like a pedicure set, skin care sets, makeup, whatever else.  There's some stupid rules about posting sales for MK products online, can't say things like "Everything is 50% off!" or "Buy one get one free!" because then other reps would have to match that price or something. So I'm not "officially" saying that's what the sale she is offering is...  ;)

Yeah she had them listed for awhile this time last year (before all the "fun" began).  Not sure if her shop is still up or not or if she has to pay a relisting fee.

I unearthed the last of our remaining G.I. Joe riff merchandise if anyone is interested.

1 white XL "Don't Jump" T-shirt
1 green camouflage "Don't Jump" mouse pad
1 mystery coffee mug (but my guess is it's a "G.I. Java" one)

Not gonna lie, the coffee mugs are really sweet. I have a couple that I kept for me.  Only Bob has all 4 designs.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And there WILL be some super sweet merchandise for an upcoming riff at some point down the line.

Sounds good.  Would've been nice to meet someone from the boards, but yeah, if you're too far away the drive would be a bit much for the result.  Like you said, the mail'd probably be easier all around particularly since I'm unable to visit for more than a few minutes without strain.  [People who have visited in the past (the last being 2009 or 2010 I believe) say, "you seem fine," while they are here, but they don't quite get the aftermath of anything over about 10-15 minutes because they don't see it.]

EDIT:  Removed some info, because I removed the stuff that I had listed here.

That's sounds fine.. To clarify, scratches and small dents are no big deal, but rust and/or major dents (basically if the plate looks in rough shape) he doesn't want..

I will be heading back to Mexico in less than a month to check out the new sports bar & grill restaurant and my brother in law could still use some old license plates, so if anyone else has any laying around they don't want, I'm interested in them to decorate the walls of the sports bar and will gladly cover the shipping costs.

By any chance does anyone have an old AT&T iPhone (4 or later) they aren't using anymore? Mine's having issues & the home button hasn't worked since around when the 4s came out.  I'd prefer something around 32 GB or higher since I need to take photo & video of the houses I inspect for work.  Figure I'd check here to see if anyone has one they're using as a paper weight or something.

I have 7 seasons of Scrubs on dvd for around 40 bucks OBO.
I have 8 games for an Atari 400/800xl that I just couldn't bring myself to throw away. I am asking S&H and news that you enjoyed them OBO.
I also have an OBOE previously owned by a guy named Bo, asking 10.00 OBO!

I've been trying to get rid of some RCA Selectavision video discs for years.  We inherited them from my wife's grandparents, and initially I thought they were very cool, but I just don't have the space for them.  I have tried to take them to Goodwill a few times, but I always chicken out at the last minute.  I just don't think they would find a good home through that route.

I have a few posted on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/spacecowboy.311/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
But I've reached my monthly limit of free listings.  I have a total of about 60 titles.

Is anyone interested?  I can create of full list of titles if anyone wants.

I remember picking up a used player and some disks back in the 80s when the format died, not that it was around very long, only a few years.  It was a terrible technology, crazy needles that wore out, discs that wore out or were easily damaged by anything touching them...

Those discs are really cool looking though, all kinds of patterns on the surface.

Wish I could afford one right now. :(  My laptop is ancient (has XP on it, so that gives an idea) and is SLOW, not to mention not powerful enough to do anything of note.

I hope you can get them sold.

Well like I said I have 4 total so you have less than 3 weeks if things change..
I wish I could go lower but I'm partnering with my I.T. guru friend who's helping me out letting me sell them (because he doesn't have the time) and we will split the cost. He went through them and did a clean install of 10 so they're ready to go.
