Title: What's up with the reauthoring on Matthew's riffs?
Post by: Thrifty on December 18, 2011, 11:15:54 AM
Putting the DVD together was smooth.  No surprises in the ripping, sound mixing, menu creation, or compiling phase.  Yet when I went to make the ISO image for burning to DVD, CloneDVD gave me weird error messages.  I had to use DVD Shrink, which I stopped using long ago because it seems to mess up on most riffs.  It did fine with this one.

The weird thing is that the last riff that gave me this trouble was Jurassic Park 3.

So what is it about Matthew J. Elliott that CloneDVD doesn't like him?

It's the accent.

maybe its the media gods telling rifftrax its time to try out some new guest riffers. nothing against elliott, but theres way too much talent out there to stick with just two guest riffers.

There were others... Blame Society did a couple. As well as Paul & Storm & Johnathan Coulton. Hell just have Bill and Kevin do more on their own!  I just wish RT Presents was more prolific (but not to be so prolific the quality suffers, professional recording all the way please..)

Yes more Rifftrax Presents!  If there is anything that has been neglected on this site it's this.  I get that they don't sell as well (thanks to the poor fools who think if it's not MKB it's not worth watching), but they provide a nice variety.  Unfortunately at this point Matthew J. Elliot is the only one left, so thank you very much sir!

My pleasure, Artie. I think my favourite (and favorite) comment on YouTube so far is: "Mike, Kevin and Bill, please. Who was that guy and why would I care?"
Are there any particular titles you'd like me to riff in future?

How about "Risky Business."   I've been wanting someone to riff that for years.

Other suggestions:
More Die Hard
Interview with a Vampire
Sneakers

That is a fantastic suggestion!

Oh thank god.... I thought I was the only one having issues here with the reauthoring.

I can mix it all fine and create the VOB and all, but DVDStyler crashes in both Windows AND Linux....

I think maybe I'll have to have one without a menu.

For MY issues, I blame the DVD of the movie.  More and more, the newer DVDs are having troubles mixing.

I got mine all mixed down with some work-around, but I can't get it to burn with a menu.... But at least the important part works!!

Great riff, as always Matthew!!!  They just keep getting better and better!!!

Well it's not for lack of support by Rifftrax.  I guess the guest riffers just aren't churning out the new material.  Cole and Janet have been working on something for months.

Good suggestions, but I think I'd most like to see Jaws 2.  After all, MKB did Jaws, while Cole and Janet did Jaws 3.  Let's get two other riffing groups on Jaws 2 and Jaws 4.  Maybe Matthew on Jaws 2 and Blame Society on Jaws 4.

or hey, how about somebody completely different and fresh? i know, what a crazy idea, right?!? blame society doesnt deserve another chance after their painfully unfunny hack job on ghost rider.

I still think Matthew on Terminator 1, Bill/Kevin on T2... That should round out all the Terminator series.

I hadn't thought of that.  Another Iriff contest like they had back in 2009 would be nice.

Or, they could bypass the contest part altogether and just declare Spoony the winner.  ::)

Says the guy with a Dane Cook avatar?  (Not sure if serious or not)

I loved the Ghost Rider riff. One of my favorites.

sorry man, i thought ghost rider was a worthless, unfunny piece of shit. the dane train could riff circles around those pretenders.

and as long as we are bagging on avatars, what exactly is going on in yours? is that a silhouette of a guy about to take one off the chin?  :D

Someone should probably start a thread to talk about the Sherlock Holmes riff at some point...

Thus illustrating perfectly that humor is completely subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
