Title: List of Crap #49! - Top 56 Celebrity Crushes
Post by: MontyServo on June 21, 2011, 10:02:50 AM
Hey there all!

It is that time again, time to gather together around a specific topic, share our opinions about that topic (in some sort of order), then count down our overall favorites in list form.

This one is a doozy!  Top Celebrity Crushes!

I asked for you to send in your list of your top 25 Celebrity Crushes of all time.  I would then assign points for each of your picks (25 points for #1, 24 for #2, and so on).  I would then add up all of the points for all of the picks and compile an overall list.  The List of Crap!

We got 18 lists this time, a great showing if you ask me.  A few folks turned in incomplete lists, which resulted in their picks getting fewer points than they otherwise would have.  But it is what it is.

Out of 408 total votes, we had 330 unique names!

Because of a tie at the bottom of the Top 50, we have extended the list to a Top 56.  Bonus crap!

Basically, everybody's Top 2 made the list.  To break these ties down at the bottom of the list where a person has just 1 number one or number two vote, we will go by order the lists were received (with the exception of my picks, I will put them lowest.)  So in this case it paid to get your list in early.

And if I skip one of your top two picks, that means it is going to turn up later on on the list.  A good thing!.

I will have #56-#51 today and then get through 5 a day until we get to number one.

So let's get started, shall we?

Up first:

"I'm a natural blonde. But when I started acting, I would go to auditions and they didn't know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent--but I had blonde hair. It was ignorance: they thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek."

I definitely considered her. She's pretty smokin' and I really dig Modern Family. But alas, she didn't quite make the cut.

Not sure when that photo was taken but she looks completely different now. Looks a lot better now, IMO.

Kate Winslet

The Wiki:
Kate Elizabeth Winslet (born 5 October 1975) is an English actress and occasional singer. She has received multiple awards and nominations. She is the youngest person to accrue six Academy Award nominations, and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Reader (2008). Winslet has been acclaimed for both dramatic and comedic work in projects ranging from period to contemporary films, and from major Hollywood productions to less publicised indie films. She has won awards from the Screen Actors Guild, British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association among others, and has been nominated for an Emmy Award for television acting.

Raised in Berkshire, Winslet studied drama from childhood, and began her career in British television in 1991. She made her film debut in Heavenly Creatures (1994), for which she received her first notable critical praise. She achieved recognition for her subsequent work in a supporting role in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and for her leading role in Titanic (1997), the highest grossing film at that time.

Since 2000, Winslet's performances have continued to draw positive comments from film critics, and she has been nominated for various awards for her work in such films as Quills (2000), Iris (2001), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Finding Neverland (2004), Little Children (2006), The Reader (2008) and Revolutionary Road (2008). Her performance in the latter prompted New York magazine to describe her as "the best English-speaking film actress of her generation".[1] The romantic comedy The Holiday and the animated film Flushed Away (both 2006) were among the biggest commercial successes of her career.

Winslet was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children in 2000. She has been included as a vocalist on some soundtracks of works she has performed in, and the single "What If" from the soundtrack for Christmas Carol: The Movie (2001), was a hit single in several European countries. Winslet has a daughter with her former husband, Jim Threapleton, and a son with her second husband, Sam Mendes, from whom she is separated. She lives in New York City.

When you make **** episodes of something, and people watch the whole series and/or rewatch them, they become very familiar. Likewise. My list is only six dudes long because they were the only people on whom I have or have had a serious fixation. Like, wanted to marry and have his babies and not just because I looked at him and thought he was a fairly attractive fellow. If it was up to me I would have made stacked the deck and made Colin Meloy numbers 1 through 20 and the remainder 21 through 25, but that's not the way the system works.

I CAN'T BELIEVE I LEFT KARI BYRON OFF MY LIST!

Kari Byron wasn't on my list, but she's definitely a cutie. She's bubbly too, a quality I find quite appealing.  ;D

P.S. Hey Monty, why are limited to just five a day? Are we rationing crushes in time of war?  ;)

Dana Delaney came incredibly close to being on my list.  She definitely would've been on my list if I hadn't specifically set aside some spots for childhood/teen celeb crushes (ones that played large roles in forming my 'Lovemap' [see Dr. John Money's idea of Lovemaps (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovemap), just click the word and magically you can find out about it  ;) ]).

She is also obviously one of the women that continues to remain beautiful as she ages, and she got even more beautiful as she passed through her 40s, so she's still a serious hottie in her 50s.

Part of my definition for 'Celebrity Crush' was that I would go out of my way to see the person in TV shows/films, even if I didn't think I'd like the show/film.  Dana certainly fills that criteria [heck, I actually bought Exit to Eden, just for her scenes].  But there were just too many others that were more intense that beat her out.

I will probably double up and do 10 a day on Friday and Saturday since I am off from work then. Maybe 5 early and then 5 later in the day.

Plus I think limiting the list to just a few per day allows each entry time to shine on it's own without being lost in the shuffle.

Two quick comments then a word about my number one.

1)  Brooke Burke is incredibly hot (and only 8 days older than me.)

2) That picture of Linda Cardellini is now the wallpaper on my phone.

I have had a huge crush on Mary Stewart Masterson ever since I saw her in Some Kind of Wonderful back in '87.  In this case it may have been more of a crush on the character than the actress because there hasn't really been anything else she has been in that makes me think the same way about her.  It was definitely a movie that spoke to me as a teenager, and it is still a fave to watch once or twice a year.

If we ever do Fictional Crushes, I may end up with the same number one pick.   ;)

How's this?

The teeth seem perfectly in proportion, don't they?  She's even pointing them out for you.  ;D   ...Yes, there are teeth in the picture.

[Seriously, like Monty said, what was in the LoC list was just a bad pic of her.]

The above pic is after having three babies.  [Well... not immediately after, and since she was partly a model, with the assistance of a professional trainer probably 2-3 hours a day.]

But what I crush(/have crushed) on is largely her personality, as well as her more exotic 'blended' looks (she's French/Irish on her father's side, Portuguese Jewish/Irish on her mother's side).  She seems like someone who would be fun to be around, as well as being a great wife and mother.

Audrey Hepburn
(http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/5531/audreyhepburn.jpg)

The Wiki:
Audrey Hepburn (born Audrey Kathleen Ruston; 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) was a British actress and humanitarian. Although modest about her acting ability, Hepburn remains one of the world's most famous actresses of all time, remembered as a film and fashion icon of the twentieth century. Redefining glamour with "elfin" features and a waif-like figure that inspired designs by Hubert de Givenchy, she was inducted in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame, and ranked, by the American Film Institute, as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema.

Born in Ixelles, Belgium, Hepburn spent her childhood chiefly in the Netherlands, including German-occupied Arnhem during the Second World War. In Arnhem, she studied ballet before moving to London in 1948 where she continued to train in ballet while working as a photographer's model. Upon deciding to pursue a career in acting, she performed as a chorus girl in various West End musical theatre productions. After appearing in several British films and starring in the 1951 Broadway play Gigi, Hepburn gained instant Hollywood stardom for playing the Academy Award-winning lead role in Roman Holiday (1953). Later performing in Sabrina (1954), The Nun's Story (1959), Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), Charade (1963), My Fair Lady (1964) and Wait Until Dark (1967), Hepburn became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age who received nominations for Academy Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTAs as well as winning a Tony Award for her theatrical performance in the 1954 Broadway play Ondine. Hepburn remains one of few entertainers who have won Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards.

Although she appeared in fewer films as her life went on, Hepburn devoted much of her later life to UNICEF. Her war-time struggles inspired her passion for humanitarian work and, although Hepburn had contributed to the organisation since the 1950s, she worked in some of the most profoundly disadvantaged communities of Africa, South America and Asia in the late eighties and early nineties. In 1992, Hepburn was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

At the age of 63, Hepburn died of appendiceal cancer at her home in Switzerland.

I'm not really a Hepburn fan, but I can see the appeal.  Quite ravishing and Holly Golightly, despite being very childish and selfish, is incredibly charming.  Still, I'm positive that there was at least one firey brunettte from that era that I might have missed.

"I'm not mainstream-looking. I'm not very skinny. I'm not ...like....beautiful. The point of mainstream movies is to cast someone that everyones' going to love. Because of my persona, I'm controversial. I don't do anything in my real life to deserve that. I don't drink, I don't do drugs. But studio people don't want to put me in their movies. They think I might offend."

Alfred Molina?

I think Seth can be a remarkably funny guy with the right material (even if that material isn't always his, though American Dad proves he's got plenty of talent left). He lays off the heavy political stuff, tones down the references-for-the-sake-of-references, and he's golden.

Kinda surprised there wasn't more love for the Depp-man. He may be overexposed as hell (and not in all the right projects) as of late, but he's still awesomesauce. incarnate And apparently a super-nice guy in person, which goes a long way.

It just occurred to me to just google the quote at the bottom of the post to get who's next on the list, but that kinda ruins the fun.

That said, I think I'd like to start watching Doctor Who now.

Yeah, no cheating.  What I was going for with the personal quote was so everyone could try to guess the next entry before they scroll down to it.  That is actually the hardest part of this for me, trying to find a quote that is interesting and might provide a bit of a clue.

More entries tomorrow.

I guessed Brooke Burke's place right off from the quote.  ('Course, that's the only one I've accurately guessed so far from the quotes... it probably doesn't help that I'd never heard of about 1/4-1/3 of the people on the list thus far, or didn't see them in enough for them to be memorable.)

The newest Doctor Whos are quite good (an aside: there is usually at least once per episode I have to back up because they were talking so fast I couldn't make out what they'd said, thanks to both the speed and the accents).  I considered Karen Gillan for my list, but realized she didn't fit my 'media stalking' criteria for more recent crushes (i.e. that I would search out all the appearances I could find for the person and try to see them), plus I didn't feel an emotional connection to her (i.e. that I could see myself hanging around her) so she got dropped from the final list.  That, despite her being gorgeous, AND a redhead (when my top visual preference is actually for true redheads [must be the roughly 1/2 Irish blood in my veins  ;) ]).

Odd... I like Depp enough to have searched out and watched a LOT of films that I would not normally have rented just because he was in them, and I think he is an amazing talent, and handsome, but he just doesn't 'take over' my thinking.  What I mean by that is that I don't think about him when I'm not watching him, which is not true of many - if not most - of the other people on my list (in one way or another).

There are so many that could have been on my list if I'd gone with criteria that didn't include some sort of an emotional 'bump' from seeing/thinking about them (which, I suppose, defines 'crush', so is probably redundant with this list's core idea  :) ).

YOWZA!!!

Oh great and fluffy Buddha, I just want to ride off into the sunset with her in the passenger seat of my sky blue convertible  ;D

I wouldn't ask her to hang up Christmas lights on my porch though. She doesn't seem to get the idea (though it could be argued that the idea she has is brilliant in its own right).

Wow, other people voted for Seth McFarlane? Ok. When I show my list at the end you will see tons of comedy people. That's why I find them attractive

As for McFarlane - everything about the man just irks me to no end, I can only see red when thinking about him. His voice, his mannerisms, his stupid smug face; I would give my left foot for a chance to whack him in the kidneys with a steel pipe.  :grr:

I realize that's not completely fair to the man, but though I don't begrudge him his success (mostly) I don't think I'll ever be a fan.

All right. Some of my choices showing up finally. Christina Ricci has this other-worldly quality to her (As in, she kinda looks like an alien) that I dug back in the day. Knightley made for pretty decent eye-candy in the Pirates flicks and in that one King Arthur movie. If you were a teen in the '90s, Cindy Crawford was the bomb. That was a nice Pepsi can. I can't remember whether I had Scar-Jo on my list or not, but if she made the cut it's because of how she's been rocking it as Black Widow.

Also I totally think I know who's next from the quote and if it's who I think it is I can't believe I left her off my list.

Disclaimer: As a married man whose wife frequents the forums and even contributed to this list, I should mention that she is above and beyond all entries on the list and will remain my number one. She's just not a celebrity. :^)

I think the original casting (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,22141.msg638364.html#msg638364) would have been better, she would have looked nicer in the suit and could have done the Russian accent. I still wanted to see the film because I like the characters but some of my interest certainly disappeared when she dropped out and was replaced by Scar Jo (I really just don't get her appeal, yeah I know, big boobs). :)

OK, so that is no help.

From his website, a short bio:
"I, Richard T. Van Remmen II, was born in Buffalo, New York on June 17, 1969. I moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina with my parents in January, 1980, and graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1988. I joined the United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Force 1 1/2 months after graduation, and was based in Charleston, South Carolina (temporarily based off-and-on in Kings Bay, Georgia) during my entire 4-year career. I served aboard 4 Ballistic missile submarines: The USS Andrew Jackson SSBN 619 in 88-89 DECOM. Crew, the USS George Bancroft SSBN 643 in 89 D.A.S.O. Run, the USS Casimir Pulaski SSBN 633 in 91-92, and the USS Henry L. Stimson SSBN 655 for 3 1/2 weeks in 92), along with 1 Fast-Attack submarine; the USS Ray SSN 653 in 1989-90 Mediterranean Run. I attained a rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4) as a QuarterMaster (QM3) or a navigator/submarine Helmsman-Planesman . I was given Confidential, Classified, Secret, Top Secret, and N.A.T.O. Top Secret clearances. I received my Dolphins for various "Fast-Attack" and "Boomer" Ballistic Missile submarine qualifications, a "Boomer" Patrol pin w/ 3 stars for 4 total "On-Alert" patrols at sea, a sea service ribbon w/ 3 stars for service at sea, a Humanitarian medal for the Hurricane Hugo disaster in Charleston, SC (1989), the National Defense medal for Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm (1990-91), a Good Conduct medal for 4-years of Honorable service, and departed the Navy (1992) and eventually received an Honorable Discharge after 4 years of inactive duty (1996). I went on to receive an Associate in Arts degree from York Technical College (1996), and later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, with a Minor in Geology from Winthrop University (2001)."

Quite a storied history for our Mr RVR II.

He also likes to holiday in Mexico and spend time drinking copious amounts of tequila.

He becomes the first ever Rifftrax forum member to be listed on a List of Crap (even if only as an honorable mention).  And with his one point he ranks higher than Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga, Anna Nicole Smith, and James Dean.  None of whom received a single point.

A lot of those women went on to have film careers, from Kristen Wiig now to Tina Fey and Gilda Radner. Nowadays it seems like the real goldmine is in creating your own characters and teaming with a good writer, but its not easy. It's a scary thing for a woman to put yourself out there and look like an idiot. Look at Lucille Ball. She said, 'I'm not funny. What I am is brave'. The comediennes I admire are the bravest people who aren't afraid to look ridiculous. Maybe that's a harder notion for women - the fear of not looking their best."

My heart skipped a beat when I saw his handsome face. That is one of my favorite pictures of him -- there is nothing I love more than a bearded Colin Meloy. I've had my difficulties with his success but I can't stop loving him.

Also, that video you linked? I was there. You can see me sitting off to the far right at about 9:40. I also have this marvelous souvenir, taken with a shitty cell phone camera.

Thank you for including him in your honorable mention, Monty. I guess I could have filled up the list with a bunch of nonsense but I truly couldn't think of anyone else to add, besides maybe Simon Woods or Sean Connery, and those two would be long shots. Colin Meloy is pretty much it for me.

I dont know.  I think part of the reason a sad woman can look attractive is that emotional pull it evokes.  That desire to protect her, in her vulnerable state.

That can be true too, and especially for those who enjoy playing the role of protector.  [Who says even macho men don't/can't learn 'empathy' because of sex roles?]

My personal preference is for equality with partners.  'Protector' - to me - sets up an 'unevenness' to a relationship; where a female would need protecting.  And it becomes downright annoying if it happens a lot (such as in a brief relationship I had a decade and a half ago), because what the overall feel is, is that the person can't function on their own.

But that desire to 'take care of a [weaker] female' is, very likely, a 'hard-wired brain thing' from our ancient past, and so can be hard to overcome.  And some don't want to overcome it (both males and females in that dynamic).

but it even i think in a protector mindset i dont think of being overbearing with it.  I do not like a girl who is helpless.  or incompetant really.  And i dont think the mindset is merely just sex roles.  Im in the military i think because part of me views the world like this.

What I can tell you is that Mr. RVR II is a member of the Rifftrax Roundtable message board.  He is a very active member of this board with 28598 posts at the time of this writing.  He owns a successful services company that caters to the Spanish speaking community in Rock Hill, SC.

And now back on topic.  I really wish more older sex symbols were on here.  All we got so far is audrey.

Well, I believe five of mine were at least from close to 50 years ago... tho none in the B&W-only days (maybe more than five; too tired to dig around for it and check my list right now [I'll post it after the Top 10 go up]).

By the way, I just want to say what a wonderful job you've been doing with this list Monty!  I know it's a crapload of work, and you are not only doing it double-time, but with extras in addition!  My applause, good man:

And something else: I've just been mightily amused by the fact that when RVRII's entry has been mentioned by anyone on the list after Monty, they quoted the massive ENTIRE THING each and every time!  :D

14. Kevin Bacon
15. Jake Gyllenhaal
16. Michelle Monaghan
17. Tom Hardy
18. George Clooney
19. Bruce Campbell
20. A freshly reanimated Cary Grant

Not my best run by far, but then, this is a pretty varied list in every way (plus I'm not the best at picking the 'right' kind of crush, apparently). Still feel like I could have squeezed a few more on there (probably a couple that I forgot off this list).

I suspect there were a few on here that weren't on anyone else's list (which, given the number of people mentioned as being on a list, is probably true of virtually everyone's list).

Of the LoCs I've contributed to, this had to be the hardest one to put in order, because the criteria for each 'entrant' on my list were often so different (their personalities and/or their looks and which was most 'crushable' for me)... so it often depends on my mood as to which I find 'biggest' crushed-upon at any given time.  That's not to mention the ones that I crushed on as a kid that I'm no longer interested in.

It was really hard to decide placement for ones that were more from my childhood and ones that were more recent.  I tried to come up with an 'intensity' scale where the ones from my childhood that influenced my adult 'lovemap' [a concept in psychology which is probably available to see via a search of either Google, Wikipedia or Amazon] were treated as if they were partially still active, then compared them to more recent ones.  As much as possible I tried to keep in mind how intense the crush was, but even there, I had to mix that with how long the crush lasted (some being 'short-lived but very intense', for instance).

Of the LoCs I've contributed to, I think this was the one where the largest number of my top picks made the final cut (5 out of 6), yet, if my memory serves, NONE of the rest of my list made it.  :D

1. Brooke Burke [amazing to me she ended up my #1: that's even with me 'marking off' for her having gotten a boobjob]
2. Morena Baccarin
3. Nathan Fillion [If I was into guys, I'd be all over that!  ;D ]
4. Salli Whitfield-Richardson [on 'EUReKA']
5. Elizabeth Montgomery [longest childhood crush]
6. Jessica Alba
7. Ann Margaret [childhood - probably the reason I prefer redheads, actually]
8. Ashley Tisdale [like her personality; reminds me of someone I know well]
9. Barbi Benton [late childhood - large influence on what I thought was sexy]
10. Summer Glau
11. Tamera Mowry
12. Dina Meyer
13. Eliza Dushku
14. Tamlyn Tomita
15. Freema Agyeman
16. Meredith Baxter-Birney [childhood - first TV crush I remember, from 'Bridget Loves Birney']
17. Kristin Kreuk
18. Patricia Richardson [good 'wife' material]
19. Charlize Theron
20. Vanity
21. Barbara Feldon [childhood]
22. Marlo Thomas [childhood - 2nd most memorable childhood TV crush]
23. Kate Jackson [teenhood]
24. Nana Visitor
25. Natalie Wood [esp. childhood, but I still think she was gorgeous]

Could someone post a list of the final 'top 50' (like the first two lines for the entries: the name plus points/top voter)?  It's always interesting to look at the final lineup without going through multiple pages to see it.  Thanks!

And, again, a big thanks to Monty for the superb work on the list, and for belting it out in record time (with bonuses, yet)!

I've never sat through two minutes of an L&O episode in my life, but when I saw a commercial of Freema starring in the above, did I ever contemplate giving the UK flavour a chance. But then my wits came back and no.

I didn't even know who Morena Baccarin was at first. Firefly, that explains it!

Amy Adams was adorable in Sunshine Cleaning.

1. Alyson Hannigan
2. Kate Miccuci
3. Amy Adams
4. Inara George
5. Sarah Silverman
6. Eva Gabor
7. Bjork

At least one of mine made it on.  (Wait, did Amy Adams make it?)  My list is pretty weird, I know.  My number one is the example of what I would want in my girlfriend: someone who is just as fun as a friend as they are as a lover.  I'm really more into funny ladies, as you can see and Kate Miccuci is certainly that.  Hearing her on various podcasts makes me realize she's funny and cool.  Amy Adams is just so sweet but doesn't have that unapproachable feel a lot of the other actresses have.  Inara George is the lead of the two man band the Bird and the Bee and I have a thing for girls singing old fashioned music.

http://www.youtube.com/v/5D2Orp3Y98k

I'm not a fan of all of Sarah Silverman's work (I become less interested when it is scatological), but she is very funny and after hearing her on quite a few podcasts, she seems like a fun person to hang with.  And she's hot in a Homestar Runner shirt.

I recently saw Green Acres for the first time, and while it's pretty weak (though it has more positive attributes I would have thought), Eva Gabor is very watchable and lovable playing a foreign buffoon and animal savant.

I know, it's weird to put this one off after she got put through Lars von Trier's wringer (Dancer in the Dark is an amazing movie, but stay away from sharp instruments after watching the movie), but she has an ethereal beauty to her mix with a great voice, a kind of creepy childlike enthusiasm and a certain je ne sais quoi.

Very interesting top ten with some unexpected inclusions.

#10 - Phoebe Cates
Oooh. Phoebe Cates! That's probably an oversight on my part but I guess it's one those that goes far enough back  to where you kinda forget about it. Although I did include Marsha Brady, which is a full-on childhood crush.

#9 - Jessica Alba
She definitely has the ability to look very hot. Although that's not the best picture her. Considered, but passed over.

#8 - Morena Baccarin
I only know her from V, and she barely looks like that photo on the show. The really whitened her up! She's good looking, but there's something about her that kinda creeps me out. Maybe it's her character on V, what with all the crazy eyes and sinister looks.

#7 - Joel McHale
Although I didn't put him on my list, I'm a big fan of McHale. Both The Soup and Community are two of my favorite things on the tube.

#6 - Jewel Staite
#5 - Nathan Fillion

That's interesting. I would've thought that if anybody made the list from Firefly/Serenity, it would've been Summer Glau who I find to be an incredible hottie. Did anyone watch The Cape? She's amazing looking on that show. Quite possibly the only reason worth watching it.

#4 - Alyson Hannigan
#24 for me. I think she's awesome, super cute and funny. I too have a feeling she would be incredibly fun to hang out with.

#3 - Zooey Deschanel
She's another one I considered and can definitely bring the cuteness on occasion. She looks great in that little music vid, but what the hell is going on in that picture? Bush baby lady looks like she contracted dengue fever.

#2 - Christina Hendricks
Well, what can you add to this? She's a bombshell, plain and simple. For me, this is the current face (and body) of sex appeal. #1on my list and the I'm pretty sure the highest any of my number one picks have placed.

#1 - Natalie Portman
I think Natalie Portman is beautiful, when she doesn't weigh 80 pounds. I guess this just another one where I have issues with her personality.

The only really glaring omission for me is Grace Kelly. I challenge anyone to watch Rear Window and not develop a crush on her.

What a beauty!

Anyway, here's my list:

1. Christina Hendricks
2. Kate Winslet
3. Emilie de Ravin
4. Amanda Seyfried
5. Tiffani Thiessen
6. Mandy Moore
7. Grace Kelly
8. Alyssa Milano
9. Drew Barrymore
10. Mila Kunis
11. Alison Brie
12. Alicia Silverstone
13. Natalie Wood
14. Jenna Fischer
15. Marisa Tomei
16. Maureen McCormick
17. Parker Posey
18. Seth MacFarlane
19. Elizabeth Banks
20. Audrey Hepburn
21. Winona Ryder
22. Jon Hamm
23. Rose McGowan
24. Alyson Hannigan
25. Emma Stone

Great job Monty! This one was a ton of fun.

I can't believe this list! What the Eff is wrong with some of you?! Seth Macfarlane?! Brian Blessed??? Alicia
Silverstone?! What... THE EFF? Any of you guys ever witnessed the hawtness that is Gemma Atkinson?! Seriously, guys
my mind=blown. Then again... I am kicking myself for leaving the booty-full Kari Byron off my personal list.

Now I don't find Natalie Portman all that sexy, but I guess I can understand why, I mean who doesn't want
to dock his boat in Natalie's port, man?

Here's my list of hot hotties

13. Natalie Wood

For Morena - check HER out in Firefly/Serenity!  Then you'll know why she made enough lists to crack the top 10.

And I agree on Summer Glau being a hottie (she made my list).  I actually have an autographed pic of her signed to me, personally. *sigh*  ;)  And yes, other than Summer, there was nothing else redeeming about The Cape.

Interesting that HALF of the top 8 crush-people got 'big' from Joss Whedon shows.  :)  Clearly the guy's got taste!

Oh, and with your list, I think you are the only other person to have had Natalie Wood on yours, other than me.  She is such a classic beauty that is timeless (i.e. if she were 'new' right now, she'd still fit right in, where some other 'classic' actresses would look - well - 'out of place', even if gorgeous).

Great job, Monty, and this is no reflection on you, but that was a very dissatisfying list (except for the inclusion of Colin Meloy in honorable mention -- thanks for that!!). I either didn't know or couldn't stand most of those bitches. My only consolation is that fugly Cameron Diaz didn't make the list.

My list:

1. Colin Meloy
2. John Denver
3. Peter Tork
4. Matt Smith
5. Kurt Russell
6. Shaun Cassidy

And if I was strictly sticking to the criteria which I originally intended, truly the list would be two people long -- Colin Meloy and John Denver. I did think of two that could have been added but I just forgot -- Sean Connery and Fred Willard. Gosh, Fred Willard should have been #3.

Edited because I wrote "unsatisfying" and that's wrong wrong wrong.

I don't care why she's blowing on it, it's really hot somehow.
Maybe it's the firm grip on the stalk.. :P
Mwah hah hah, very subtle.  :D To continue with the dirtiness, she better be careful or she might
get some of those seeds on her face! Be careful you don't get KAKKE Anna!

I'll have to put together a list of "Honorable Mentions" for people I should have included, but it'll probably be longer than my official list, heh.

Which I've misplaced and will have to dig up.

I don't find her very attractive either. Neither in personality or body. There's just something about
her that just really turns me off.

BANG BANG... on the door baby BANG BANG... on the door... YOU'RE WHAT? TIN ROOF... rusted.

Anna Friel was hotter when she was in Brookside, and Kristin Chenoweth was incredibly hot in Pushing Daisies.

I have her after she's gone through the bunnyfication machine on my list. I have a friend who looks like a glorious amalgamation of both the Deschanel girls sexiest features with a touch of Ms Perry folded into the mix. :)

Title: Re: List of Crap #49! - Top 56 Celebrity Crushes
Post by: LucasM on June 29, 2011, 05:47:07 PM
Tamara Taylor probably should have been on my list.  She is gorgeous and I love her personality.  From what I've seen, she would be someone who'd be comfortable to hang around with 24 hours a day.  Since I don't care for that kind of TV show (true crime/coroner/etc.) her presence was the only thing that got me to watch through the second season and part of the third season of 'Bones' (which ['video stalking'=watching things I would not otherwise watch just for her appearances] was a partial criteria I used for what constituted 'crushing') .  [She had a bit part in the film 'Serenity' for those interested who don't already know... as River's teacher.]

To Golfyblind: Stana Katic very nearly made my list.  If I hadn't included 'crushes from the past that helped form my lovemap [but people who I don't continue to crush on]', she likely would've been in about the same position as she was on your list.  Beautiful, sexy woman who has a great personality in real life (as well as the character she plays).

mrbasehart, you made a good point: from people's crush lists, it was often possible to see what their TV/movie watching preferences were/are.   :)  There were a good 1/3 of the final results that I'd never heard of, probably because I didn't watch the type of show/type of movie they have been in.

Incidentally the top ten was pretty bloody Whedontastic wasn't it? :)

Yeah, I'd noticed that too. (http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,22141.msg639454.html#msg639454)  Could there possibly be a few Joss Whedon fans here?  :) [I also suspect it means Joss has some similar crushes to ours. ;) ]

Though her guest role on Supernatural is still my favourite as she has a scene where she lowers her delectable self into a big old bath slowly and.... I'll be back in a moment.

Yep. I know Linda Cardellini from my fest and my podcast. Also, I used to be friends with Amanda Seyfried--we used to hang out with Mae Whitman a few years back (I was doing some improv shows that they had a friend in, so they would come see them and we became friends from that).  Amanda had just started Big Love and hadn't become the mega-star she is now. Oh, and the first movie I ever had a part in was "Dead Man on Campus," which Alyson Hannigan was in, and we hung out a big during the five days I worked on the movie. She was super nice and great.
