Title: The Lost Boys
Post by: zeyguy on February 08, 2007, 10:27:08 AM
Yeah, yeah. We all dug that movie when we were in high school. But...

Major drawback: Jack Bauer can decapitate Mike Nelson with a toenail clipping.

** Update: I double checked with the imdb on this. The brother's names were Sam and Michael. Not John. And while the trivia page acknowledges the movie is a riff on Peter Pan, it says nothing about the characters' original names being Wendy and Peter. But I know I heard that somewhere.

Yeah, this could definitely make for a good track.  I'm sure that there could be a plethora of Feldman jokes, but I'd be looking more forward to the sublter Haim humor.

Rifftrax has done its share of 80s classics, and The Lost Boys would make a fine addition to that list!!

I say GO FOR IT, MIKE!!

What? Dude, the Lost Boys soundtrack was great. You can diss, the movie, fine. No problem. But don't diss the music.

I don't disagree, but I think if you do a Schumacher film, there should be a REALLY GAY guest riffer. Mario Cantone, maybe....

God...if only My Best Friend is a Vampire was on DVD.

On the other hand, if we're embarking on a vampire kick, how about Fright Night?

God...if only My Best Friend is a Vampire was on DVD.

Awwww...man, I loved that movie. That and The Monster Squad were probably my favourite films growing up. I remember desperately wanting to see it then stumbling into a secondhand bookstore and there it was (on VHS)!

It was only then I realised that Rene Auberjonois was in it, which makes it even cooler.

Monster Squad....ah yes...that was a good one.....*longing sigh*

"Kick him in the nards!"
"He doesn't have nards!"
"DO IT!"
*WHOMP*
"Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrooooooooooooo" *whimper*
"Wow, Wolfman's got nards..."

What are you, crazy? The score for Scarface was excellent!

Read what Raoul wrote. He said he preferred the score OVER the soundtrack.

It should finally be getting a DVD release this year! It was pencilled in for a couple of months from now but it's be pushed back.

However, August 17th will be exactly 20 years since it was first screened so that's publicity they'd be silly to miss. Until then I'll hang on to my HDTV rip  ;D

No. EVERYONE wants to see Blacula; they just don't say so. So much so, that it goes without saying.  :)

Blacula rocks -- one of my all-time favorite flicks. The sequel's pretty cool, too. Great stuff. William Marshall was also excellent in another black horror flick, Abby (the black version of The Exorcist). 8)

Blackenstein is another classic.

I like the riff on the Simpsons when an announcer on their TV said something like "Welcome back to explotation theater, up next Blackula followed by Blackenstein then the Blunch Black of Blotre Blame".   I almost died laughing at that one.

I don't know about this one.....if you want a Keifer / Shumacher movie that deserves a good riffing, how about Flatlines?  Worst plot imaginable.

The Kiefer riffs alone would be worth it, but throw in bad clothes, bad hair, and a Cory and you have a big ol' pot of hilarity sure to delight even those with the most discriminate tastes...plus, it's Keifer for crying out loud, Keifer! This movie is a gold mine...

Abby is way cooler than The Exorcist seeing as it's a grown straight laced preacher's wife turned sex crazed minx. Wonderful stuff. Can't find it on DVD though.

Oh my god yes, both of those movies are ridiculous fun.

I think "Coffy" should be riffed - it's like a mix between "Mitchell" and "SuperFly".   Can you dig.

Since we are approaching the Halloween season, I think this would make for a good Halloween themed RiffTrax.

BTW, did anyone see the episode of The Two Corey's (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0818149/) where Corey Haim found out that he wasn't chosen to do Lost Boys II (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031254/), and he got all depressed and balled about it? LOL...quality stuff for sure  ;)

It's going to be straight-to-dvd and apparently now both Coreys will be in it... and Angus Sutherland (Keifer's half-brother)...

Is it just going to be awkwardly strung-together clips of their reality show with "Cry Little Sister" playing?  *shudder*
That's awful. I really thought you were joking.

I have to say though Why would you need Haim? I mean of all the characters in the original only Feldman and Jamison Newlander's had real spin off potential.

And I can't believe I just devoted even a little mental energy to which characters in The Lost Boys had the potential for a sequel ::)

You know, I actually meant to go back and edit that.

I've never seen Coffy, the movie I DID see was Coffy's Revenge- it's not Pam Greer, it's another actress, so my bad - I meant Coffy's Revenge
