Title: Mesdlkgh sglksjoanvl oasdijl faldsghsa
Post by: LadyKenobi on March 27, 2010, 09:51:35 PM
Annnnnnnnd that is what EVERY SINGLE LINE in this movie sounded like.

Five minutes in, I gave up, paused the Rifftrax, and turned on the subtitles.  The subtitles. For an American movie.  IN ENGLISH.

I'm thirty-three years old, I've taken film classes, and that's the first time I've ever had to that.

But on the other hand, aldwieng, sdoaghskdu pqoimxnsvtg dsah!

Uuuuh, yeah, I don't remember having trouble understanding what the characters said. I had trouble CARING about what the characters said.

I'm hard of hearing so I always use the subtitles.  But sometimes you come across cool stuff like changed dialogue or funny stuff like how they describe the music.  "Eerie music" when it's more trilling.  "Tense music" when it's more of a breakaway pop hit.  "Romantic music" when it sounds like a hog getting castrated.  Stuff like that.

Unfortunately, no, because that might have actually made this movie somewhat interesting.  Obi-Wan watched it with me; he has fantastic hearing (except when I'm asking him to take out the trash) and, since he needs to keep his FAA medical clearance, he takes very good care of it.  He's my measuring stick on what's hearable and what's not, and he had just as much trouble deciphering the dialogue as I did.  We really couldn't figure out a damn thing without the subtitles.  Which, sans Rifftrax, would have been quite a blessing.

They're speaking Emo.  Hard to understand for us grown-ups.  :)

I actually thought the guys had the subtitles on, too, because Mike made some a specific reference about the music description right after it came up on the screen.

i almost always use subtitles because the rifftrax and the TV audio make it a little hard to understand most films. I just do it so i can try to follow the movie better.

Oh I agree. I swear one line of dialogue was actually nothing but gibberish. What kind of directors do they have these days?
