Title: Good Thing, Bad Thing.
Post by: Thrifty on March 22, 2010, 09:01:15 PM
Say a good thing and a bad thing about the movie and get a RAM chip.

Bad thing: The heroes are so detestable that I have nightmares they are in my house, I kill them, and I'm the one sent to prison.
Good thing:  Oscar nominated actress Anna Kendrick in a small supporting role.

Bad thing: Ya know, when a gang of motorcycle rednecks come out of a scene looking saner and morally superior to your protag, you've got a serious problem with your movie.

Good thing: The combination of the music and Victoria frolicking through the woods stomping a mudhole in a whole pack of werewolves worked for me for some reason.  It's the only thing in the movie that did work for me.

Bad thing: Everything but "Hearing Damage" by Thom Yorke.

See above.  ;)

Bad thing: Most if not all of the music in this film ("There's a possiblity..."   >:()  Especially compared to the first one.

Good thing: Beautiful part of the country....

Bad thing:  These riffs make me look forward to the movies as much as those who want to see them non-ironically.

Good thing:  It'll all be over soon....

Good thing: The musical score (NOT the crappy songs, but Alexandre Desplat's orchestral score for the movie. Listened to away from the movie, it's a gorgeous work.)

Bad thing: The rest.

Good Thing: The entire rifftrax.
Bad Thing: We have to wait so long for the next one.

Good thing: It gave us this:

my favorite Spoony V-log

Bad thing: Stephanie Meyer is making a ton of money on this movie series.  >:( :grr:

I agree with everything except the criticism over the choice of music during the werewolf/Victoria chase scene. I thought because it was subdued that it gave a nice contrast to the action and made for a visually stunning segment (the only one in the entire movie...perhaps the entire franchise). But then I'm a huge Radiohead fan so....

Eh, I thought the music in that section was bad. But then again, I was more concerned that they were so dismissively killing off Graham Greene, an Oscar nominated actor, and by FAR the best actor in this whole movie (even though they give him NOTHING TO DO).

C'mon.  There's gotta be a good thing not related to the music.  The movie can't be that awful.

What about that part where Bella was killed?  That was awesome...  Oh wait.  That was a pleasant dream I had.

Darth Geek, thanks for the spoony vid!   I love me some Spoony and TGWTG!

One of the many things that I love about this board is that we can have really fun discussions questioning Bella and her terribleness  :highfive:

The Spoony Experiment. Bringing peace with laughter since...a few years ago.

Bad Thing: The movie is 2 hours and 10 minutes long.

Good Thing: It's not 2 hours and 11 minutes long.

Bad Thing: If I had to single out one horrible thing about the film specifically, it would be the abysmal dialogue which seriously made me want to bash my head against a wall several times throughout the film. It was delivered in the most uninteresting manner possible, I was begging for a "cool" werewolf/vampire fight scene, something that would let me turn my brain off for even a few seconds of sweet, sweet inner peace. Also, not enough werewolf/vampire fight scenes.

Good Thing:Um...

...hmm.

...I bet tourism has gone up in Western Washington state, which is good in this unstable economy.

Good thing: A decent goth-metal band from Italy who desperately wanted to get onto the soundtrack was not chosen to be on it, thus at least temporarily saving their future reputation.  Sort of, anyway.

Bad thing: All the video rental stores in my region have gone out of business and I refuse to do online rentals, therefore I had to buy the original disc.

Good thing about the bad thing: After I was done copying said original disc to create the RiffTrax version, it looked really nice melting in my outside stone fireplace.

They don't have used CD/DVD stores in your area?  Could have got some of the money back.  Donate to Goodwill, maybe?

Well, if it make you feel good, so be it.
