Title: Why is the riff in Stereo ?
Post by: thesciphishow on January 22, 2010, 01:24:00 PM
Hi,

Just downloaded ROTJ riff and when I set out to remix it, it turns out the riff is in stereo. Is there any reason it is in stereo ? If the channels are the same then it just doubles the file size.

Or are there actually stereo effects in the riff, which would be very cool :)

It's in stereo because I didn't encode it as mono from the raw wav file. That is all and can be fixed if it bugs anyone.

No swooping stereo effects from what I heard, it's just how I've always worked with it.

(Also, it doesn't double the file size...it's a bit larger, but not by that much. So no worries there.  ;) )

It sounded pretty good when puting it through my Pinnacle Studio program.. :o
I'll watch it tonight when it's finished rendering and give another update..

Somewhat related note, I wish the iRiffs could be stereo rather than mono.  All the music on our Burn-E iRiff was recorded in stereo and doesn't quite sound the same once it's changed over to mono.
