Title: an episode I saw only once, but it really "got" to me
Post by: leftcoasttim on December 21, 2009, 03:35:38 PM
"The Horror of Dr. Fu Man Chu" or something like that ("Fu Man Chu" was the villain, that much I remember).
Not really for any particular shorts (if any) or jokes, but it's where Tom and Crow really can't take it anymore.
They were really starting to "lose" it, as this latest awful flick had finally driven them far over the edge!
I was really accepting that not only were they real, but so was their dire situation (being up in space, forced
to watch bad movies).  They had the same reaction, of course, to "Manos, the Hands of Fate", but I've got
a copy of that, so the "Fu Man Chu" one seems more poignant in the recalling.

That would be The Castle of Fu Manchu. They even dare the mads to riff on the movie at the end. Of course, Forrester and Frank can't take it either.

Thanks for reminding me of this one. I haven't watched it in years. It's on Youtube, so I'll watch it again.

So that's three episodes that feature one or more of the mads riffing, right?  Castle of Fu Manchu and Last of the Wild Horses with Dr. F and Frank, and Quest of the Delta Knights with Pearl?  Of those I've only seen Wild Horses once, Delta Knights a handful of times, and Fu Manchu...never.  Looks like off to YouTube for me too.

Yup, the only difference is in Fu Manchu Frank and Dr F never go into the theater. During the last host segment they illustrate how easy it is to riff on a movie with the help of a screen and a projector (chroma key) from Deep 13.

What's the one with Mike's "brother" riffing? Those scenes were hilarious.

That was "Time Chasers". Man, I am helpful today! Y'know, it really is my incredible modesty that makes me better than so many others. I think I'll have another beer.

That's one of those episodes I have on my hard drive but have never watched.  I'll have to check it out.
