I like it live better than the studio versions. Much better.
As good if not better* than Rifftrax.
*Did I cross the line?
-
Mine has not come yet, so I probably wont get to see it until late next week when I get back into town.
I REALLY liked the live DVD of the Plan 9 show...... I dont know if I would want every DVD or Riff live, but it sure is fun.
-
Let me know what you think when you get it.
-
I loved CT's 'East Meets Watts' ,.....very funny, but I'd have to watch the 'same' movie riffed by Rifftrax, before I'd make a judgement on who's 'better'.
I wish Rifftax had riffed on 'Santa Claus Conquers The Martians' instead of the shorts. Probably cause quite a stir on the net though.... :D.....but would have been nice to compare the two styles.
-
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. Do they include the pre-show on the DVD?
-
Got mine today, watching it now. Just as good as I remember, and the live format isn't bad at all.
Also, if live show recordings allow for more moments like the whole MST reference bit then I hope they do more of them.
-
So do you think this is the best Cinematic Titanic, so far? I haven't watched any of them, but I liked the sample posted a while ago.
-
It was damn good, but no way can I put this over Legacy of Blood.
-
This sample looks VERY promising.... :D

I ordered mine based on BTA's review and it'll be waiting for me upon my return January 9 from Mexico :o

I think they've consistently gotten better.
-
It was really really good.

A very funny riff and a great insight into what a live show is like.
I think all their DVDs should be live in the future.
-
I enjoyed the DVD, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was better than everything else they've done.
-
This is the fourth CT I've gotten through EZTakes and I really enjoy the convenience of the download system over waiting for the DVD to arrive.
There's no "pre-show" other than Joel introducing the cast but the live format does showcase their responses to each other more clearly. They needed the live format for this show just for the spit-take gag.
I just hope we don't have to wait too long for their next release.
-
Loved this DVD, the live recording was fine, so that's good news. I'd still prefer studio recordings though.
-
Seen half of it, and so far, it's pretty great. Consistently funny throughout, it's the kind of material that is so incredibly ripe for riffing that it's rich ground for the guys to cover.
-
I watched it along with Plan 9 Live back to back the other night and I Agree with BTA :D :D

Well, judging from this photo, you are not delivering the package, that is for sure.

From Satellite News:
• Feb. 20–Two shows at Milwaukee’s at the Turner Hall Ballroom. Update: The 7 p.m. show is sold out. Tickets still available for the 10:30 p.m. show at $24. General admission. 7pm: “War of the Insects”, 10:30pm: “Samson and the 7 Miracles.”
-
I Hope they put those out on DVD!! :o
-
Neat!
Triple-Win!!! It looks like I'll be seeing EMW this weekend now, and a Samson movie?!!! Yes, yes, yes, yes....go Beer Town! That's so cool the first showing has sold-out already.
Thanks for the news-drop, 'rent!
-
I Hope they put those out on DVD!! :o
You and me both brother. I am sure they will be out in DVD, in some form, sooner or later.
-
I suggest
obsessively refreshing checking out MST3KInfo.com every once in a while. They've usually got the latest news on everything MST3K, RT and CT related.
-
I'd definitely agree that this is the best of the CT's yet. The live format gives a warmer, more natural feel to the riffing, and there's a better dynamic between the five. I was disturbed in the early CT's by total lack of the conversational tone that the later seasons of MST3K and the Rifftrax have. But in East Meets Watts they're starting to remedy it, with much less of the -riff-pause-riff totally unrelated to preceding riff-pause- that marred the first few CT's for me.
-
I like the fact that there is something to watch other than a bad movie.
-
Just finished watching this one. First full Cinematic Titanic I've seen. I enjoyed it. Definitely will check out some others. I got Tiki Island and War of the Insects as well. I did notice they seemed to make more flubs than Mike, Kevin and Bill do in their Rifftrax Live performances. Not too much, but it was noticable given that you'd think they'd practice more.

Just in time for their retirement. :P

Alien Factor is my fave
It's by Don Dohler. That's the director to Galaxy Invader. It's a classic.
-
East Meets Watts will always be special for me, since it's the only one that I saw live (as "The Dynamite Brothers").
I think my faves are Doomsday Machine, Alien Factor, and Rattlers.
