Title: Battles BC on the History Channel
Post by: Cosmic Muse on December 11, 2009, 11:58:06 AM
I love ancient warfare, the more ancient the better. Well, I was doing a little bit of searching this morning on Youtube for documentaries on ancient battles and warfare when I stumbled across this series. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was like the History Channel was trying to regurgitate the visual style of 300 in retelling some of history's greatest battles. What struck me was how ludicrous the documentary style was using copious amounts of green screen and actors just like 300, which was a fictional telling of a nonfictional event. The most fun episode I think has to be the one about Hannibal and his march across Italy during the second Punic War. A lot of the Youtube comments are quite hilarious, alluding to Mr. Clean and how did Hannibal survive the journey across the Alps without wearing any significant scrap of clothing on his body. Here's a link to the first part of the Hannibal Episode which you can follow along to the other parts by the links on the right side from there.
