Title: Guest Riffer Wishlists
Post by: Asbestos Bill on June 02, 2009, 06:24:00 AM
Who would you give a proverbial nut to have as a guest riffer?

Here's my list:
- Billy West
- George Tekay
- Johns Linnel and Flansburg (it would be a musical riff)
- Kevin Spacey
- Alan Alda

I'll post more as I think of them

I third Bruce, though he'd probably have more fun making fun of the riffer than the movie.

Riffer: Boy, Bruce, it's a real honor to meet you!
Bruce: Yeah, whatever.  You got a beer or something?
Riffer: Well, I figured we could get right down to...
Bruce: Hey, listen here, chucklehead, I didn't fly in all the way from Oregon just to hang out.  Beer me.
Riffer: Um, yes, right away, sir.
Bruce: And don't ask me to say "Work Shed," either.  I'm tired of saying it.  And come near me with any of those "Book of the Dead" DVDs and I'll beat you to death with them.
Riffer: I thought you were only like this in "My Name is Bruce."
Bruce: Oh, I see!  Mr. Fancypants thinks he knows me after meeting me for twelve seconds.  Well, let me tell you something, Smart Guy, you try working with Sam Raimi for twenty minutes, and let's see how rosy YOUR outlook on life is!
Riffer: You didn't get into Spider-Man 4, did you?
Bruce: No, I did not.   ;D

As far as anybody over than Bruce, though...
Townsend Coleman (guy who did The Tick, Michelangelo on the '80s Turtles cartoon, promos for The Tonight Show)
Christopher Walken (think he's hysterical, though maybe difficult to work with?)
Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw (See "Zero Punctuation"...and his adventure games are good)
Hank Azaria

Agreed on all counts. Also, Tom Wilson (the comedian who played Biff, not the cartoonist who draws Ziggy).

A month ago my list would have included Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm, but we got that wish, leaving me optimistic for my other random dream riffers. :D

Patton Oswalt
Joel Hodgson, even though the end result will be a pretty awful riff, it would be interesting to hear him and Mike working side-by-side.

I am very much in the Mike camp on the Mike vs. Joel 'debate', but I don't think Joel would make a bad riff guest, far from it.

Mostly, I want Trace Beaulieu as a guest riffer.

To clarify, when I started this thread, I meant for these to be people you would want to work with. As such I figured any MST3k star would go without saying   ;)
