Title: "Pride and Prejudice....and Zombies."
Post by: Trumpysgirl on March 31, 2009, 11:10:08 AM
Anyone seen the adverts for this little gem?

I am sooooo tempted here.

It's actually not too bad, they do a pretty good job of integrating the texts.

Why be merely tempted? Life is short, but there's always time for zombies!

I know. I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time tonight so now I'm in "roasted ham covered in Bosco chocolate sauce" mood.

For some reason I find the cover art character slightly more appealing than the regular one. Maybe it's those languid red eyes. @_@

I won't read it though. I despise zombies in film and literature. XP

So this goes alongside Pride & Predator? How about Pride & Predator and Zombies?  :)

I'm waiting for Sense and Sensibility and Ash from Evil Dead.

I actually really want to read this, despite hating Pride and Prejudice. Plus, it's about zombies. How can they go wrong?

I was going to bring that up.  What happened to Pride and Predator?

Like the ones Wade Davis investigated for example.

Actual cases of zombification are really quite unlike the "Zombies" seen in film and literature but they do exist.

I just read this and enjoyed it very much. I have to say I never would have read it if not for the zombie element.

I read both Pride & Prejudice and Pride & Prejudice and Zombies. I have to admitt, I enjoyed the random zombie attacks on the people of Meryton.

Hmm. No one's mentioned Sense & Sensability & Sea Monsters yet.

No really.

The author who wrote P&P&Z left to go write Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer (Yes, really) so it's a new guy writing this one.

I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It was good. Not hilarious, but steadily entertaining. I definitely wouldn't have read the original, as I despise Victorian England romance-literature. I can't take bonnets, "oh, I say!", and tea for 400 pages.

Georgian and Regency.

Plus Austen isn't romance literature, she writes social satire.

I still can't take it. Not saying she's a bad author, but it's the sort of thing that causes me to look for the nearest pointy object and insert into the eye socket.

I'll take Wodehouse, thank you.

(And if you don't mind-- what is the difference between victorian/regency? One assumes the leaders, but more than that?)

Ooh tons.

Do you want politically, sartorially, architecturally, furnishings, morals & mores or literature? :)

It's like asking if there was any difference between the fifties and the seventies. Only about a decade apart but there was sooooo much that changed during that time.

The Regency was from 1811 to 1820. The Victorian period didn't start until 1837.

Bingo, but actually I do want to answer Kzinistzerg questions, I think it'd make a great entry for my blog. :)
