Title: The Lost Room
Post by: Shinigami on December 20, 2006, 11:07:19 AM
Did anyone else watch the Lost Room on Sci-Fi last week.  I thought it was very good.  Cool concept, high production value, and a well written script.

I was thinking of starting a thread about this myself.  I saw all three episodes yesterday and was impressed by how good it was.  Isn't it odd how Sci-Fi's original series are good, while their movies suck?  I was surprised by relative TV heavyweights such as Julianna Marguiles and Peter Krause go to Sci-Fi, but they both work well together (even if she appears a little cold).  The central conceit of the series is a neat one - at first I thought it was a little silly, but as the series progressed I thought that the everyday objects with extra-normal powers were pretty awesone.

I think they're going the same route as BSG did - releasing a mini-series to gauge interest - then if there's a sufficient audience, they'll make a full series.

I just assumed that this was a weekly series. I have quite a few episodes recorded at home, just waiting to be watched. I like to save up a few episodes before i commit... that way, if i'm into the show, i can watch a little mini-marathon instead of waiting week to week for the next show.

It's the only way to watch shows like 24 or Lost, and really helps with stuff like BSG or Dr. Who!

The Lost Room would make an excellent miniature golf cour... uh, I mean RPG. Yeah. RPG. Perhaps a video game too, even a Not-Very Massive Multiplayer Online RPG.

Ok so it'd make an excellent miniature golf course as well. Hole 18 would naturally be the Room, since you never get your ball back on the last hole. :D

Seriously though. Good mini-series. I liked it a lot.
