After the end of the day, you undo the top button of your pants and almost have an orgasm

You know you're getting old, when there are lots of people younger than you.

I'm crap at this game.

You know you're getting old when that really cool band that your parents thought you were crazy to listen to, makes it's debut on the classic rock stations play list.

Psst: It's 'you're'.
You know you're getting old when you correct someone's grammer on the internet.

Psst: It's 'grammar'.

Psst: the period goes inside the quotes. Also, you should be using full quotes instead of apostrophes. ;D

Also, you know you're getting old when you refer to Internet sensations from not-all-that-long-ago, and most people don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Example: I intentionally pronounced something wrong in a Jeff K like fashion the other day in public (as my wife and I often do to amuse ourselves), and when I tried to tell the person I was just doing Jeff K, they were like "who the hell is Jeff K?" I'm not THAT old, damnit!

You know you're getting old when all the stuff you liked as a kid (Rainbow Bright, Care Bears, Transformers, etc) are making a comeback because THE REST OF YOUR GENERATION HAS ALREADY STARTED HAVING KIDS!!!!!!!!

Well chemistry sets and microscopes never go out of fashion.

I always had toys from catalogs like this one (http://www.mindwareonline.com/MWEstore/Home/HomePage.aspx?)

That's why my name's Nick.

Nick isn't nearly as evocatively old-sounding as Beatrice, or Winston. I feel sorry for kids who are saddled with names like that.

This conversation on old reminds me of a former friend of my wife's. She's 38, but she acts and thinks like she's about 90. She calls a soda a "soft drink." She says she feels like having a "cone of ice cream." For 15 years after finishing university she did not own a television (and lived in the basement apartment, which had been done up as a granny pad, of a family that lived 4 blocks from the university). When she finally got a television, it was a 12 inch thing that she put on the bookshelf next to the coffee table, and only used it to watch televised orchestral performances and the like. She knits her own sweaters and cardigans, and wears them even in the dead heat of summer. Last year, she tripped on the sidewalk, and broke her foot in three places. She is, seriously, the oldest person I've ever known. And my grandmother lived to be 93. :P

Yes, I got it, but I wanted to see if it would bug you if I didn't comment on the pun. ;)

I guess I'm getting crotchety in my old age. :)

You know you're getting old when you post in topics like this.

Unless you do it ironically.  Then you're just confusing everybody.

Also, my eyebrows are starting to get mutant long hairs that stick out at weird angles.

You're turning into Gandalf!

You know you're getting old when you realize that your favourite show that you watched when you were younger didn't have any computer effects in it.

Or you resent the new shows/movies that do because younger people automatically assume that makes them "better" than your favorite shows/movies.

You know you're getting old when the main character from your favourite video game could only move in two directions.

Jeezy creezy, this thread is making me feel old.  But I think that if I call myself old in this thread, I'll just get yelled at.

So far, I feel old because most of my favorite music is on the oldies stations (can I help it if I think classic rock is better than 99% of modern music?), and because stuff that I remember from my history is already showing up in history books (9/11 got a mention in my Junior year history Regents review book).  On top of this, I can usually predict when the weather's going to turn sour because my head starts acting up a bit more.  And plenty of the kids in my class, or around the same general age range, are either preggers or have at least one baby.

Screw getting yelled it.  I'm the oldest 20 year old ever.

You know you're getting old when your pants cover your belly button.

You know you're getting old when you yell at kids to get off your lawn.

I FEEL older than most of the people on this forum, but the more I found out peoples' ages, the more I discover that in most cases I'm no more than 2-3 years older than you all. And in some cases, I'm even younger. Yeesh. Finding out I'm not old makes me feel old, for some reason. :P

It doesn't count then, it only counts if you remember it when it was a new band and your parents didn't understand why you listened to them.

This isn't a "you know you're old" thing exactly but rather a fun little anecdote.

OK so we were on the way to the DSO last night and listening to the radio in the car. The was a story about how T.I. occupies the number one and two spot on the Hot 100 chart. Well they played some of both singles to which Ann declared "they both sound the same, there's nothing about different about them!".

Then the story mentioned that the last person to achieve the two top position placements was Nelly and they played a bit of Hot in Herre to which Ann said "now there was a song with a melody!"

Yes, I needled her about how old ladylike that sounded for a bit, including singing Country Grammar in an old biddy voice.  :D
