I met Trace Beaulieu down in Florida back in 2004 and he said this would be one movie who would love to take on. I personally never saw this film but I pretty much figured it would be crap so lets go for it.

The "Boys Don't Cry" references alone will get them through most of it. Throw in a few "The Next Karate Kid" lines and BANG, you got yourself a nice little track...

In fact why not just do "The Next Karate Kid"?... or any of them for that matter.

Wasn't this one Armageddon but downward instead of up.

Yes, and they find massive diamonds inside the Earth...

As a geology major, this movie made me laugh so hard. So wrong, so very wrong...

Yeah, this movie was so mind-numbingly stupid that even when I saw a trailer I thought...

...this has to be some kind of childish prank.

Not a geology major, but I took geology, and...the scene with the giant geode...wow.

The only thing worse than the bad science, the stuff they blatanly ripped off of Armageddon, and the other stuff that was way too cliche (black guy dieing to save the rest), was the stupid, unlikable nerd they had that somehow managed to use his 1337 h4x0r status to STOP THE INTERNET!

The core was banking on that irresistable formula of

Pop science + pop culture + pop technology + sub-mediocre plot = film success...

...it's more of a theory than a law...

I love how they invented a new 'indestructible' element that also converts heat into electricity or whatever, save the world with giant nuclear bombs (that always works), and somehow escape the mantle through a RIFT ZONE?!? And there is now way humans can stop the core from rotating with a GIANT SPARK PLUG.

Yeah, this was sort of an Armaggeddon wannabee, just devoid of even the slightest entertainment value...

SO with you. This movie made me laugh so hard when I first saw it. Look, there's empty space in the center of the earth!

Not to mention the whole movie is a giant sexual innuendo. Mother earth is horny, we need to drill into her womb, drop a nuke, and give her a little excitement before she kills us all. Or something like that. I don't know, I'm tired. Bed time for me.

It's enough that this movie is perfect for 'the treatment,' but the fact that Trace might get in on the action makes it irresistable.  Mike, if you're reading this, I'll go to great lengths to ensure this one is made.  You just tell me what it will take.

I liked how they rather convieniently found the one scientist on the planet who had invented both a super-laser to cut through the Earth AND an indestructible metal to make a ship out of. That's like what, a one in a million chance?

And how nice to see DJ Qualls break character and play an uber computer geek. It's quite a step up from his usual roles as an ordinary geek.
