Voted for Shaun. It was interesting, original, and didn't have Jack Nicholson, who never plays a character--he just plays Jack Nicholson. Now I'm voting for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest just to spite you. Are you still here? How adorable.

anais, I voted Cuckoo's Nest. This was one of the toughest rounds for me (tougher than Blazing Saddles vs AOD) but what it came down to is what is in my opinion a better and more lasting film with excellent performances vs. a film I love watching and certainly enjoy more. I went with the former.

I'll agree with the people who are calling Shaun original, in that no one's been able to do what that movie did with a zombie story before.
That said I ain't voting yet, time to check video stores again.

I should point out that I don't think Shaun is original, I just like the book of OFOTCN more than the film. And that chips away at my support for the film in this match up. I met Kesey once, he was very nice after I helped him fix the tire on his Mystery Machine. I mean he was probably very nice prior to that but I didn't realise it was him until after I fixed the tire. I agree with Tripe, the book is better than the movie. I voted Shaun cuz I watch it all the time. THAT'S IT! Tripe, will you be my second? It's time to take out the BTA! Sure, why not, you want Sabre or Epee?

Tripe, I find your reasons for voting Shaun very random. I think this is a really stupid match up. Shaun should have been against Army of Darkness, because both these films kick ass. I went with One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest because it is AMAZING. And everyone who votes for Shaun over it should prove they have watched OFOTCN or else they are shunned!
I've watched them both, voted for Shaun which I think is also AMAZING. Plus zombies are awesome and his shite Joker performance has forever sullied everything I see Jack Nicholson in.

No, no, no it has a safety "thingy" on in that pic, a removable safety button, one can do some serious damage with an epee if one really wants to. It actually was the sword designed for dueling, as even now it essentially is scored on "first blood" (though of course no blood is drawn any longer, so long as nothing goes wrong).

While One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest has been a veritable gold-mine as a source of jokes for the Simpsons, I've voted for Shaun of the Dead. I really like One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, but I love Shaun.
And I love Daisy's McMurphy-esque shuffle through the kitchen on Spaced. Brilliant!
