Well?
I've heard a lot of opinions on the forums on this subject... figured we could get some numbers.

Weigh in!

I'm not really interested in just "whatever's currently being released--let's riff on that!"

So I didn't buy Cloverfield or Spider Man 3, and I'm not buying I Am Legend. Come on, guys.

I buy everything eventually.  I'd like to see more older films done or films from differing genres (Disney please!), but I'm still happy with what is being released.

Ditto, except I will be buying Spider-Man 3 because the movie was terrible (haven't yet because I'm still working on my Beowulf re-author).  But I'm stopping at Cloverfield and I Am Legend.

And I've bought EVERY riff up to this point.

Thats similar to the reason that I don't buy the shorts. They slowed down on the "real releases"and I figured that not buying them right away would help show my dissent.

I'm sure the shorts are funny and I can guarantee that I will buy them eventually, however I want to see where the hell they're going with the whole '99 cent short vs. releasing real-Rifftrax'.

I should clarify--I'm not a 100% purchaser. I pick and choose. I have probably 40-50% off the Rifftraces released, and some of those are of recent movies of extremely dubious quality (Eragon, for example) and are wonderful.

I just don't buy what I don't want. And I haven't wanted a new one for awhile.  So don't take my word as some kind of rabid-mouthed fanatic with a fist of cash slobbering "YOU'LL NEVER GET THIS AGAIN!"  It's more that, "Hey, I'm picky, and I"m not going to buy just whatever gets cranked out."

And yet you both just lost all forum credibility Wink

In all seriousness Rifftrax as a company probably has more fans that are selective.
Riffaholics are probably in the minority category. I watch them all because Rifftrax is my favorite "show" if you will. I also DVR every episode of The Soup. It really depends on what preferences you have as an individual, I'd imagine you both have something that you never / rarely miss.

Sure, and I sometimes get upset at those too. The first couple episodes of the new season of Doctor Who, for example.  But I dunno...I'm definitely, these days, of the opinion that if I don't like something I just try to ignore it.  I'd be a lot more upset, I think, if I were more attached to the RTs.

I pick and choose only out of necessity.  Stupid money.   Grr!  If I had my druthers, the completist in me would go hog wild.

I have never had any buyer's remorse even if I do end up liking one movie over another.

I don't buy every one, but I have the majority.  It doesn't matter to me what films you guys do.  If I don't like it, I won't buy it.

I think you guys probably already have an answer with your sales numbers.  The forum probably has the most vocal fans, but I doubt it has the majority of fans (it may...you guys know the purchase numbers).  I don't think it's selling out to sell what the majority of your fans like and buy more, but it is nice to give the vocal fans a shout out and release something for them every now and again, regardless of the sales numbers.

That being said, I'm expecting That Movie or Dune next week  Evil
