Moviehole reports that Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the people behind "Meet the Spartans" and "Epic Movie," are working on yet another spoof comedy. Entitled, "Goodie Two Shoes," the film will revolve around a group of friends, who go on a life-changing adventure.

The site states that the new movie, will spoof films like "Superbad," Will Smith's "Hancock," Mike Myers' "The Love Guru" and "Sex and the City," for which they are looking to cast a man for the role of Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker's character.

Aside from that, the studio (Lionsgate) is also looking for people to play the roles of Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, Prince, Flava Flav, Dr. Phil, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton and Michael Jackson.

"Goodie Two Shoes" will be filming in Louisiana on April 28th through June 6th.

Ah! I love hearing terrible news in the morning!
I've never liked how these types of movies try to spoof comedies, like Epic Movie did with Borat, and now this movie with Superbad. Much like a rifftrax of a comedy, it just doesn't work.   Sad

Wet Hot American Summer was a parody of raunchy 80's "summer camp" comedies.  Although much of the humor in that movie MIGHT be called "meta-comedy" rather than "parody."

To get back ON-topic, it seriously depresses me that these two sadists* are allowed to make movies.

* Nobody could make something as painfully unfunny as Epic Movie by accident.  This is deliberate torture of unsuspecting audiences.

Heh.  I just listened to the Superbad commentary where Seth Rogen and crew talk hypothetically about how the movie would be spoofed by the guys who did Meet the Spartans and wondering how the hell they would do it.  Probably make them even more awkward with girls.  Maybe gay.

So all their movies are terrible awful drivel, but now there's not even any rhyme or reason to the parody?  I mean from the previous trailers, they all had a lot of random past-their-prime pop culture references that didn't make sense inside the world they were trying to parody, but now they're actually just picking random things and throwing it at their stupid movie.

Mind explosion.

Wow... so... they have a solid PLAN... to parody movies they HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN YET? I mean, unless they're psychic, or some moron let them be industry insiders somehow... aside from Superbad, none of these movies are out yet. And they're going to parody a comedy too... GOOOOD IDEEEEA. Don't listen to, only everyone who's ever done comedy, who says you can't parody comedy. You prove them wrong! YEA! *"You're The Best" plays*

Once again, it HAS been done successfully.  By people WAY, WAY more talented than these guys.  Although technically, it's more of a pastiche than an overt parody.  However, all the retarded elements of the genre being targeted are present in surrealistically exaggerated fashion.

Er, American Wet Hot American Summer is a terrible, unfunny movie by once (and then later, again) funny people. So, no, it is still not possible to parody a comedy. You can make fun of the fact that an unfunny comedy was popular, but you can't make fun of an actual FUNNY comedy. Even if you think WHAS is funny, are there any funny movies it's actually making fun of? I mean, Meatballs isn't really funny. So, parodying conventions of movies is completely different from satirizing a specific comedy. UHF parodied (slightly) a basic lame comedy movie premise and occasionally went a little further with it. But that's not the same as trying to parody Superbad and going, "Ooh, look! We're even MORE wacky! Their car exploded, and then the whole universe exploded and was replaced with boobies, and look, another Tom Cruise parody!" It's like if Scary Movie's use of bodily fluids was actually a parody of the overuse of bodily fluids in other movies. Sure, they went further with it, in a ridiculous way. But in essence it was just the same joke, not a commentary. Movies like this make me think they should just skip the plot, and have a parade of characters and celebrities get naked, do as many disgusting things as they can, and they explode gorily. And voila, instant "extreme" parody exaggeration comedy movie. You can't go any further with it. Hey, what's funny about Tom Cruise? Uh, he laughs and jumps a lot. So let's exaggerate that... um, whoops, we just re-invented Daffy Duck.
