I would say "you're in for a treat", but you know that already!  Great cartoon -- they never dumbed it down for the kid audience (until they added "and Slimer" to the title and Dave Coulier took over as the voice of Venkman) and there's actually a lot of moments where you think to yourself "is this appropriate for kids?".  I found it to be just as scary, funny, and imaginitive as I remembered it from the USA re-run days.

Just bought Ghostbusters on blu-ray -- gonna watch it tonight...

Yeah, it's been awesome so far.  Also, I never got to see much of the syndicated version of the series (they made ABC Saturday Morning episodes and direct-to-syndication episodes at the same time) so there's a great mix of episodes I remember fondly and episodes I don't think I've ever seen before.  Loving the voices at the start of the series.  I always got a kick out of Lorenzo Music playing Venkman, but now that I know more voice actors recognizing Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarsh is a treat, and I still can't believe Arsenio Hall is Winston.

I used to love that show, though I can barely remember half of it now.  One episode I do remember is the one where they explore who Slimer was before he was a ghost.  His name was something like Miles Remil.  Smiley

I also have that Real Ghostbusters disc, but haven't watched any of it yet; I'm waiting til I run out of one of my current Saturday Morning cartoon shows (either Dungeons & Dragons or Mr. Bean) and it will find its timeslot then.

And I got my notification from Amazon that my Ghostbusters BD shipped today.  Since it was free shipping, it's a lie, of course, and it will actually ship thurs or fri of this week.

Just picked up 40 Year Old Virgin and Evil Dead 2 on Blu Ray. I've never actually seen Evil Dead 2, only Army of Darkness. So I guess I'll be seeing the "trilogy" in reverse.

Bought this for pretty much for the same reason I got Thir13en Ghosts: love those visuals (unironically even). Plus, there's the constant buzz around here they may riff this someday, so seems good to have around.

Did you really get the PG-13 Theatrical Cut rather than Unrated Extended Cut?

It's cool how the latter adds scenes to try to make the plot make sense when only the real Director's Cut might do that.  But it is more dumb fun - which is all this movie is when you come down to it.

My brother made me a "backup" of that movie--I think it was that movie--on an unlabeled disc. I popped it into my player to see what it was, and stopped it about 4 minutes in and threw it out.
